Quelle est votre opinion ?

🫠✨😫😶

"Even though I have yet to finish the book, I felt it was the right moment for me to review it. I admire how the story blends many subjects in such a non-chaotic and confusing way. From how hard it is to move abroad and live with a different family to figuring out your identity. Jamie and Lou(Luis) search for meaning together, which melts my heart since we all need a person that will stand by us as we try to figure out life. Being young is not all fun and games as must adults tend to believe. It’s a period where you battle to figure out what you want out of life and where you stand on it. With that being said, Mae takes it upon herself to portray all those struggles and the boy’s journey to flourish together. The story is so authentic and real while dealing with those struggles with empathy and care, without minimizing them for plot purposes only. Amazing work!!! can’t wait to read the next one on the series too🤍✨🤍"

Emotional Rollercoaster!

"'What If I Like You' is an emotional YA coming-of-age story of a character grappling with a dilemma that is both very real and heart-wrenching. The sweet and spicy dynamic between the main characters balances the deeper issues the story grapples with. The main characters' vulnerability, stubbornness, fears of rejection, and seeking acceptance add depth to the emotionally charged narrative. Finding someone who really sees one yet not being able to see and accept oneself for what they are, for me, was the soul of the story. I do wish for Jamie and Louise to find their HEA despite all the obstacles in their way."

Very good

"A rollercoaster of emotions and feelings that captures you right from the beginning. The struggles here are very real and you wrote them perfectly. I forgot to react to a lot of chapters as I just tapped to go on to the next one, but I did read it. The only thing is the ending, it was just heartbreaking that Louis left and Jamie was hurt so badly by that. A great story though and well worth the read."

Thanks for this story!

"Thank you so much for this Tory! I enjoyed the third person POV, character. It helps understand the character development over the course of the book. Is there a book 2 or follow up to know what happens to these characters? Thanks! "

MUST READ !!

"What If I Like You Like You is a masterclass in emotional storytelling, driven entirely by unforgettable characters and a dynamic that pulls at your heartstrings from the very first chapter. She captures that breathless, high-stakes vulnerability of first love where two people become each other's safe harbor away from the noise of the world. Watching them navigate their flaws, lower their armor, and truly see one another offers a level of emotional depth that stays with you long after you've finished reading.A deeply moving, character-driven romance. If you live for profound emotional depth, slow-burn tension, and characters who mend each other's broken pieces, this is an absolute must-read."

What If .... I Like You ❤️❤️

"What a brilliant and wonderful story, it’s very well written, and a very enjoyable reading experience, thank you @Mae Miller for writing this beautiful story about family, friendships, love, and heartache. Jamie is the high school football captain who has a girlfriend, wonderful parents and a loving twin sister. Jamie is being recruited by the elite colleges for his football, but when the new French exchange student Louis comes to live with Jamie, and his family life will be turned upside down for Jamie, and never look or be the same again for the popular jock. Highly recommend this amazing book to everyone, it’s a must read by all. Looking forward to book 2. ❤️❤️"

Mae, Fix This!

"This book is very different from the first version, although it has kept its original story and the same emotional feel. It seems like Mae really sat down with the boys, got to know them better, and rewrote the story. But is it still her story? For me, the characters truly came to life, and I can't wait to read the next book to find out where, when, and how their paths will cross again. So please hurry up, Mae. I'm begging you. I devoured this story, and you left me crying and heartbroken at the end. And I know you enjoy that—for your jar... But these boys belong together!!! Like the sea and cockles. 😉 The conflict is so powerful. The real question is: do you follow your heart or your professional path? It's incredibly sad that, even in this day and age, people still aren't free to love whoever they love without being judged. Now that I've wiped away my tears, I also have to tell you how much I loved the three F's that ran throughout the entire book: Football, Fighting, and Fucking. Well done. Now go write the next one!!"

Heartbreak!

"It took me a while to read this version of What If as its own story. I fell deeply in love with the original (and highly recommend reading it too) and so I needed to accept the new premises first. I did. This book is beautifully painful in exactly the right way. I cried reading more than once. 10/10 - Mae may crush my heart over and over. The characters are REAL. No idealised book boyfriend nonsense. Real humans with all awkwardness. All ugly emotions. They are so relatable it hurts. This book is so, so good - if you didn't start it yet: Do so immediately."

An Unforgettable Masterpiece ❤️

"After devouring every chapter like an addict, all I can say is that Mae is truly an incredibly talented author who knows exactly how to captivate her readers from the very first page to the last. This story touched me so deeply that I’m sure I’ll be thinking about it for weeks to come. From the very beginning, I was completely immersed in its atmosphere. It’s emotional, beautifully written, and so incredibly vivid that you don’t just read the story—you feel it. Jamie feels unbelievably real to me. The way his thoughts, fears, emotions, and relationships are written makes it impossible not to empathize with him. I also absolutely adored his family and the warmth they brought to the story. None of the characters feel flat or distant; they feel like real people with real struggles, real love, and real hearts. What I admire most is how profound and emotional this story is without ever feeling forced. Everything unfolds so naturally, and every chapter leaves you desperate to read just one more. I don’t usually read many LGBTQ+ stories, but this book completely surprised me in the best possible way. It may genuinely be one of the most beautiful and emotionally moving stories in this genre that I’ve ever had the pleasure of reading. Mae, you’ve created something truly special. This story feels authentic, heartfelt, and unforgettable, and I’m so grateful I found it. I already can’t wait to dive into your other books because if they’re anything like this one, I know they’ll stay with me just as long. This is more than just a beautiful story—it’s one that lingers long after you’ve finished reading. 💞🤧🦋❤️‍🩹😭"

When 'Like' turns into Love!

"Seventeen-year-old Jamie Montgomery appears to have it all: good looks, athletic talent, a Division I football scholarship within reach, and the admiration of everyone at school. But beneath his carefully crafted image as the school’s “Golden Boy,” Jamie is struggling with sexual feelings he doesn’t fully understand. Enter Louis, a strikingly handsome French exchange student, who visits Jamie's home for the school year. Though nervous about leaving Paris behind, Louis is immediately captivated by the handsome football star, while Jamie finds himself equally enchanted by Louis’s soft French accent, delicate features, and quiet charm. As lingering stares, blushing cheeks, and accidental touches spark an instant connection, both boys begin to wonder if fate has brought them together for more than just an exchange program. Whew! Oh the heat! I gotta tell you I love this novel. It is a sweet story about the beginning of sexual interest between two boys who are initially shy but quickly accept their passion for one another. Mae Miller (the author) creates immediate chemistry between Jamie and Louis, making their first meeting feel both sweet and believable and hot too. I admit I enjoyed some of the scenes even more than I should have. I also appreciated how Mae avoided the usual stereotypes of the family rejecting the individual because of their homosexuality. A fun read. And a heated one too! 🔥 "

This was so freaking good.

"I don't think I've ever read something with such depth of emotion. Something that so accurately captures the complicated emotions of this hormone fueled time. Jamie is just perfect. I can literally feel the weight of expectation pressing down on him. So wonderfully protective if Lou ❤️ Louis is cool as a cucumber, nobody gets to him except for Jamie. I was hooked from the first chapter. I will be personally offended if more chapters do not materialise. Love love love! "
