The author has a very easy-to-read writing style, that relies on short bites and what feel like "scenes" presented in a sharp and generally well written way. My only quibble is that the effect can be a little grating after 15 chapters, but on the whole with very little tweaking that could be avoided. On the whole it is a welcome change from the usual style of thriller/mystery writing and it keeps the story moving quickly and effectively. The characters are well drawn and interesting, the action moves quickly, and the structure of the chapters makes it easy to dip in and out without losing track of what is going on. An ideal holiday read, in fact.
