I was pleasantly surprised by this book. A complex background story, fleshed out characters and a entertaining plotline.
Some grammar and stylistic issues, but the author is doing her best to tweak and edit.
Overall, a good read. Can't wait for the next.

War through the eyes of a child

I was pulled into this book since the first chapter.
The hystorical approach from wartime through the eyes of children is incredibly original. Bravo.
They are almost always forgotten and this is a refreshing point of view.
Sarah and Max grow through their passion of reading books and their conversation is witty and entertaining.

A main character with a strong opinion but forced into believing otherwise. I think many of us can relate to this type of relationships.

Too long

I liked the characters a lot. It is a nice plot, good development but at one moment it turns to surreal and I quit on the story and went to read the last chapter to see how it ended. I found it unnecesary long. When the story gets to a point that it no longer feels real and I lost interest in going further but then read the ending I found that it was enough. I think it would have been a good stand alone with a nice ending without going on a rollercoaster ride.

I liked reading this book. It has a good plot and the characters have their own path. I would like a more paced continuation of the development of their relationship. It just jumps ahead in the end and you feel like wanting to know more about how they got there.

The story starts off dark. Pulls you in because it's a original approach, you feel for the human girl that gets sold off.
As the story continues I lacked a bit the character development in the male lead, but I've read the continuation of the story in Love&Loss and in the end you put the pieces together. In my opinion, I would've put the 2 books together because this one hasn't really got an ending. It just stops and continues in the next.

Mesmerizing

This story pulls you in, you experience the hurt in the past of the characters. You feel that they both went through a lot and you sneakily hope that they heal together from their wounds. It's not finished yet so I can't predict how the story will go further but I hope that they'll have their happy ending.
