Really good.

I think it's a damn strong opening. It's intense, it seems really dark, and it sets us up for some pretty big themes literally from the first word. Because there's no scene-setting or introduction of characters, when you start using "her" it's not clear if you're referring to a concept (humanity, sanity, etc.) as a woman, or if there is a woman actually present. My only other criticism is that there is an ellipsis that isn't correctly formatted (probably a typo) but really, you could just delete it. The writing is dramatic enough that you don't need a dot dot dot to increase the tension.

It's a really good narrative voice and I enjoyed reading.
