The story kept me interested from chapter 1. It is a quick and enjoyable read for horror/zombie lovers like me. And I did like the characters, although some of them became forgotten after advancing the story (Julia, for example).

However, the novel needs a lot of work. There was no showing, just telling.
What really bothered me was the lack of description of the zombies. I loved the concept of having different kinds, like in "The Last of Us", but I couldn't picture what a Strider, a Screamer or a Berskerker looked like. No mentions about their decomposed bodies, their eyes, what their screams sounded like, the way they moved, their skin or overall appearance, the way they walked/run, nothing. That was what I was looking forward to the most, especially after realizing that there are different kinds of zombies in this story.
Also, what happened to the creature that could transform itself into its preys' loved ones? The one that could burn anything and injured Antonio so badly? We never got an explanation of what that was and the characters quickly forgot about it (which makes no sense either), even though it wasn't a zombie, but more like a magical beast. I seriously thought those things were gonna be one of the main threats in this story, along with The Cure, but nothing came of them... and I was so hyped!
You have a solid skeleton with this manuscript/draft, but you still need the vital organs, the muscles, the skin and the hair. But, with a lot of work, this could be quite the amazing zombie novel.
If you decide to work on it a lot more, I'd love to read it again and give feedback.
Thanks for taking the time to write and upload this story!
