Life has a way of rerouting you.

After years in Corporate America, both of our children became seriously ill. As my husband's grandmother said with her softening humor, "You two have electricity," and whatever the cause, our children were diagnosed with electrical pathways that didn't belong. One in the brain, the other in the heart.

After I chased an ambulance from work to get to my daughter, I made the easiest decision of my life: I stayed home to take care of them.

Financially, it was terrifying. But it saved our family in more ways than I have room to explain here.

I soon found my way back to writing-the love I had almost forgotten. What began as a way to help support my family became something deeper.
