A Powerful Journey of Faith, Loss, and Hope

"Faith Through Famine is a deeply moving historical novel that captures both the cruelty of the Irish Great Famine and the resilience of the human spirit. From the very first chapter, the author paints a vivid, haunting atmosphere, immersing readers in a world where grief, hunger, and uncertainty are part of everyday life. Annie O'Roarke is a compelling protagonist whose strength feels genuine rather than idealized. Her struggle to hold onto hope while enduring unimaginable hardship is both heartbreaking and inspiring. The story explores faith not as an easy answer, but as a source of perseverance when everything else has been stripped away. The writing is elegant and emotionally rich, balancing historical realism with heartfelt character development. Every chapter deepens the emotional investment, and the historical setting never feels like mere background—it becomes a living, breathing force that shapes every decision and sacrifice. If you enjoy historical fiction with authentic emotion, memorable characters, and themes of love, resilience, and redemption, Faith Through Famine is a novel well worth reading. It is a touching reminder that even in humanity's darkest moments, compassion and faith can become the light that guides us forward."

Great story!

"One of those books that I couldn't put down. I cried with the twins, longed for Ireland ( a country I've never seen) with her and felt the desperation during the famine. "Chef's kiss""

Graceful Ladies out there

"I loved this story very much. It gives a warm feeling. If you're a person who lost the hope in your life and searching for where to start or how am I going to live in this world, life is full of mystery. You have to believe in God every mystery you try to tackle you need patience and trust God. The writer has a marvellous flow and her narration is really appreciatable. Don't miss such a great book."

Good

"The story was thoughtful. Annie immediately draws a reader in to her reality during the famine. The final outcome of Owen & the Boyle family was expected given the timing (1852/53). My hiccups with the story are of my own opinion. The repetitious use of phrases or feelings seemed underwhelming for what could have been deeper. A better build up to Annie & Owen's love would have been nice to see in the beginning and carried through their letters. POV alternating chaptersmay have worked best. I really wanted the focus to be on Annie. There were 1 or 2 things about servants entrance to homes and employment didn't follow traditional awareness too. All in all it was a good read. I enjoy historical fiction and this gave me that."
