"The title of this story and the start of the 'summary' are misleading. There is no rejected alpha, there is no chapter about a rejected alpha. The idea of the story is good. The narrative lacks cohesion and at times is scattered. It left me confused on more than one occasion. Kael appears without introduction and we are left wondering who he is exactly until several chapters later when it announces he is Damon's brother. It's clear there is a chapter or several paragraphs missing, not just with the brother. The author would do well in revising that title and summary for a starter as well as editing the story structure (maybe less repeated dialogue). The concept - great. The telling - feels robotic with stop start sub plots."
