A wonderful, intriguing and nerve-wracking story
The King's Game starts out as something I entirely did not expect. Or otherwise put, an unexpected gem that I would not have found if the author had not requested for reviews. I'm definitely surprised that this is a work done by a first-time author, since as a writer myself, I dare to say that none of my works equal to this creative and delectable story, which from the very start, held my utmost attention. This story starts off oddly as nothing like any fantasy stories I've ever read, immediately diving into the site of conflict: the fact that Ryan unlike many protagonists, is an uninvited, or least to say, one that enters the story purely by accident and not intention. And oddly, unlike many authors who choose to endow their characters with: The idea that the protagonist has extraordinary talent with the issue he or she gets involved with, Ryan is bestowed with nothing. Of course, it has its perks, but it directs the story in an entirely different and unique way that keeps one on their toes.
