"Once again I am almost speechless with regard to this second book in the series. An absolutely gripping, well written and researched story that is at times so probable, it’s scary. An incredibly violent and gory read but again, very much of the time. I love how we dip in and out of the different countries and yet it all links so well. I’m sad at the deaths of some favourites and infuriated at the actions of those in power which I’m certain actually happens. I’m very excited to read the last book and whilst I would love an HEA I’m pretty certain I’m going to be sadly disappointed 😞 I would be tempted to destroy all transporters once the travellers have returned and then run away to the mountains! lol An absolutely superb series 👏👏👏👏👏"

" This tale of long ago and faraway has so many quotable quotes one is willing to risk being done for infringement... Oh well, so far my favorite is "That's because you are used to wearing skirts." I was especially intrigued that Constantinopole was rendered from an entre point of the vast and lucrative guilds of tradesmen, and I did have an impression that the Franks sacked Constantinople? There are enough points of historic interest here to satisfy even the most demanding of readers who read historic novels. Sci Fi meets ancient history in a new and interesting milieu"
