Chapter 108.

They saw Thorin on the screen. He was roaming around the mansion looking quite bored.

Alan: Ah! Young lord. Why don't you go on the rooftop to get some fresh air? We'll clean your room till than.

Thorin: yes.

Harren: so this is the young lord of House Rass. He looks like the spitting image of Sir Rass.

Ruveliss: indeed.

Thorin came to a halt when he saw a silver door. The door to the room was open. He entered inside and peeked in only to see a bug photo frame with a woman's picture in it.

Ruveliss: Lady Jeremiah?

Harren: it seems to be the late Crown Princess' room.

The vase over there was decorated with sasanqua camellias. Her favourite flower which seemed to be fresh. The little boy looked around. He noticed a button on the lower edge of the wall ans pressed it. A door opened.

Harren: Oh no!

Ruvsliss: It seems like some sort of secret room.

It was a little space. On a small pillar on a blue velvet cushion was the scepter of House Monique. The same type Ruveliss saw when he was younger and the one which Aristia and Marquees Keirean wielded when they were defeating Webinar.

Thorin seemed fascinated by it somehow. His eyes sparkled and he quickly picked it up and left.

Harren: should we inform Lady Aristia!? It's a part of the Monique Founding Powers. What if-!!

Ruveliss: Let's wait. He's carelessly taking it around so it is obvious people are going to notice.

Just than Aristia entered. She was wearing a long green colored dress and had her hair down.

Aristia: little Duke what are you doing her by yourself?

Aristia asked with a right smile on her face. Ruveliss laughed. He felt a sense of deja vu seeing the scene.

Aristia: What are you hiding behind your back?

Throin: I-It's nothing.

Aristia: I'll only get more curious if you keep hiding it. What is it? What could it be? I wonder what it is?

Her smile only got more beautiful. Throin blushed and got more embarrassed seeing her jeweled eyes.

Aristia: come on let me have a peek! I won't tell anyone.

Her smile disappeared as soon as Thorin put forward the scepter.

Aristia: that's-!

She bursted out all of a sudden.

Aristia: little Duke! Did you take that from that room there? How can the Duke of the Empire do such a thing?! You took someone else's property without a word!?

Thorin had a panicked face. He seemed overwhelmed when she yelled at him.

Thorin: I - I just-

The scepter from his hands dropped off but Aristia caught it. She shook him by his shoulders.

Aristia: Don't ever do something like this again! Do you understand little Duke!?

The boy's eyes were brimmed with tears since he was so harshly scolded. Aristia beckoned the butler to put it back in the vault room.

Aristia: don't cry little Duke.

She sighed and patted his head than smiled. Thorin stopped crying as soon as he saw her smile. It was very warm and very kind.

Aristia: you know what that scepter was right? It has dangerous powers. You could've lost your life just now.

Thorin: I could die?

Aristia: yes. That's why I got angry and for the fact that you took something without the original owner's permission. Don't do that again ok?

He just nodded furiously. She picked him up in his arms and moved forward.

Aristia: Let's go and get you what I promised.

Biva: Quite good for a novella. Impressive writing style and we'll edited. Just one thing- Karla keeps referring herself to a stray cat and while at first it makes sense the analogy gets stale after a while.
