I've Got a Plan
Chapter 1: I've Got a Plan
Theodosia
“I’ve got a plan.”
“Oh great we’re screwed.”
“Shut up Noah, you should listen to me before you assume.”
“Fine”
Noah rolls his eyes “If this doesn’t work I’m coming for you Theodosia.”
“Sure Noah, sure. Good luck!” I take a sharp turn to the right. Please let this work. Please. I think to myself. I look behind me to see a white skin, red eyed creature chasing me. More naked cat than demon. Ugly thing. This isn’t the prettiest demon I’ve seen, It could be better. It slowly starts catching up to me bit by bit, second by second. I listen to the thumping of its big feet hitting the wet stones on the ground as it gets closer.
“Don’t let me down body.” I pant out loud.
I look over my shoulder, the dang thing is at least 10 feet away from me.
“Screw you demon!” I leap towards the brick wall in front of me, I jump high enough to grab the top of the wall. As I pull myself up, I feel the naked cat grab my foot.
“Damn thing.” I let go of the wall with one hand, my grip that’s holding on slowly slipping because of the fresh rain. I reach into my coat pocket, and pull my pistol out, pointing it at the demon.
“ You should really look at your life choices.” I shoot the demon, and watch it fall to the ground, blood pooling around it. I put the pistol back in its holster and throw my leg up so I could pull myself onto the top of the wall easier. Please be okay Noah. You’ll see him soon, just focus on getting to the house. I look at the balcony on the building to my left. Why is it so high up?? While figuring out how the heck I’m going to get to the balcony with how short I am, 5 ’2 to be exact; I hear a snarl come from below me. I look down and see another demon on the opposite side of the wall I came from. “Where the hell do you guys keep coming from?!” I yell in frustration. The new demon lets out another snarl, and changes its appearance. Dammit, a shape shifting demon, either I kill it or it chases and kills me. I pull my pistol out again, and point it at the shape-shifting demon. I look into its now pitch black eyes and shrug. I pull the trigger, and it lets out a deafening screech as blood starts pooling from its chest.
“Dramatic much? Jesus.” I whisper to myself. I turn back to the balcony with a sigh. Only option I have is to jump. I ready myself to jump. This shouldn’t be too hard, I think I’ve jumped to higher places. One. Two.. I bend down and reach my hands past my sides. THREE! I jump off the wall with full force, barely grabbing the balcony with one hand. I pull myself up and over the railing. I look at my watch to see what time it is as I sit and take a small break. Noah is going to be so pissed, it’s been over 30 minutes. I don’t have time for a break. I stand up and work my way up the stairs connected to the balcony to the top of the roof. As I descend, each step creaks; making me more and more paranoid as time passes.
