The Night We Buried Darkness- Book 2

All Rights Reserved ©

Summary

Book two of The Night We Buried Darkness is just as good as the first one. This book continues Knox, Erik, and Kennedy's action filled journey has just as many twist and turns as the first book. If you loved reading the first book as much as I loved writing it, you'll love this second one on their journey to stop the biggest war in history among all Klovoxians and Aragonians!

Chapter 1

3 Months after the previous book

Kennedy

“Knox! Erik! Wake up now! They’re here, We have to go!” I yell as I run down the hallway. I barge into Knox’s room to see him sprawled out on his bed snoring.

“Knox, dammit, Wake up!”

“Ten more minutes” He groans, rolling onto his side. I growl and slap him across the face. He shoots himself upward, startled and holding the side of his face in pain

“What the hell was that for Kennedy?!”

“They’re here. We have to go. Now.”

“Who is they?”

“Oh, I don’t know, maybe the people who have been hunting us down for the past three months?!”

Knox’s eyes go wide. He jumps out of bed, running toward the door.

“Maybe you should put on a shirt?” I say laughing at him in a panic. He stops and turns on his heels to face me again.

He points at me “Oh, uh, right” He says kind of embarrassed.

I run out of the room shouting behind my shoulder. “I’m going to get Erik!”

I run down the hall and up the stairs to Erik's room. Right as I’m about to go into Erik’s room he opens his door in a rush,

“Yup, yup, I heard you. Grab the bags, we are leaving as soon as possible.” I smile, grateful to see at least he’s awake.

“Twins think alike Kennedy, it’s like telekinesis.” Erik winks. “Liar, you heard me yell.” I laugh as I run down the hall to the room that has all of our emergency bags.

I open the door to see our bags next to the door. I grab all three and dart down the hall, I throw Erik's bag at him as I run by.

“You can carry your own bag bro.” I take a sharp corner to the stairs again, and I run into Knox who was coming up the stairs, he catches me by my waist before I can fall.

“Gotcha.” he smiles.

“Thanks but no time to flirt, Knox.” I move myself away from him and hand him his bag.

“Let’s go ″ We go back to Erik and he’s waiting for us at the bookcase. Which is also our way of getting out of here without being caught by the agencies.

“Say bye to the house, we aren’t coming back.” Erik says.

“We aren’t two years old Erik.” I glare.

I shove him out of the way so I can open the hidden door. Grabbing the latch and swinging the concealed door open revealing a hidden passage. Erik and Knox run in and I close and lock the door.

“ Umm I think we have a problem” I hear Knox mutter,

“ Why what’s wrong” I ask.

“I think that we were trapped ” I turned around to see an old mine shaft partially collapsed about 50 yards back.

“That’s not good,” Erik whispers.

“Shush, they’re right there,” I mouth to them, as I hear people in front of the bookcase

“Where did they go? I swear that I saw them come in here.” I hear a man say.

“they can’t be too far” I hear another voice say.

“You go back downstairs and look around the house, I’ll keep looking up here.”

I look at Knox and Erik in a panic. I turn around and walk to the back of the tunnel, where it has collapsed

“Well there is only one way out now”.

Knox and Erik walk down the tunnel to where I am and they stop at the rubble.

“It’s not that bad, I think I can fit through there, I’ll go first.” Knox whispers.

He slowly crawls through the small hole in the pile of wood and stone

“It’s kinda tight But I think I can see the end” suddenly there is a slight rumbling and shake. I look above Knox, and see rocks slowly starting to fall. I yell at him in a panic he'll get hurt,

“KNOX GET OUT.”
