The Unusual Fairy

The warm sunshine embraced the green earth. Vegetation grew everywhere; soft, green grass, oak and cotton wood trees, wild grapevines, and wildflowers. Especially wild roses and baby’s breath. It was a simply perfect and relaxing day, with birds chirping and the gentle breeze rustling the leaves of the forest.

All seemed calm, and not a soul was to be seen.

But if you looked hard enough, you just might spot one of them.

What am I speaking of, you may ask?

Why, fairies of course! They live in the forest, and tend to God’s beautiful creation. Despite all the tales you may have heard about what fairies are like, I shall set you straight. Fairies each have their own orders for which takes care of what. As such, there are six orders of fairies. Wood fairies who take care of all plants; Charmer fairies who help all wild creatures; Mer fairies who live in the water; Crystal fairies who help decorate snowflakes and frost; Worker fairies that design and make practical objects; and the Royal fairies who, as their name describes, keep the law and order.

Fairies are about six inches tall, and have elvish features. Their wings are not quite like a butterfly’s, nor quite like a dragonfly’s. They are colored, but are transparent, and about two inches wide from the joints and four inches at the ends. They are three inches long from joint go tip, and split off into two wings in each side.

Fairies are not deadly in any way, and they can become invisible to protect themselves. Fairies cannot become human sized, however.

A fairy can have any color of hair naturally, and they shame upon dye. Their eye color also can be any color. Conveniently, their eyesight is exceptional, and don’t receive bad eyesight until around the age of two hundred. Fairies live to about the age of three hundred, and mature at the age of sixteen. They grow from birth at the same rate as a human and keep their sixteen year old body for several years, maturing at about three human years per fairy year.

Fairies make their clothing from leaves and flower petals mainly. Pixie dust does not help fairies to fly, for there is so much magic in their wings, they don’t need it. The wings of the Royal fairies are nearly twice the size of a normal fairy.

Speak of the Royals, I shall describe them to you. They are like the empire. Literally. There is a King, Queen, Prince, Princess, and Nobles. There is one big capital for the fairies, which is where the the King and Queen reside, and the Nobles govern the smaller colonies.

Mysteria is the capital of Mystic Country, where King Mamoru and Queen Lyrissa reside with their son, Prince Clay. Only the noble families have met them.

Now, just remember, you can’t see them unless you try hard enough.
