Trusting

"The story is building, it's suspenseful in not knowing who are good guys. Who makes it out of the conflicts. I think my granddaughter would like to read this story, it has amazing characters and I can't wait to see what's in store for them."

A Howling Good Time!

"The Day They Emerged is overall a very enjoyable read; there is something for everyone in this work that includes fantasy, action, and of course, a love triangle. The budding chemistry between the main protagonist Ashley and Prince Anatole is a perfect mixture of sweet and spicy. There is just enough action to keep things interesting, and the author’s knowledge of military protocol is not only impressive, but lends enough credibility to the story. Set in the present day, The Day They Emerged sees intense action from the very first chapter. There is an added conflict to the overall plot in the form of Prince Anatole’s betrothal to a mate he clearly doesn’t want, and his instantaneous attraction to Ashley Garrison, a human. Add to this Ashley’s attraction to a close high school friend who happens to be related to Prince Anatole, and the fun really begins! I highly recommend this book to anyone who is into fantasy and romance, because it definitely satisfies on both levels."

Great Story for Readers who Aren't Normally Werewolf Fans

"I don't usually read werewolf stories but I'm glad I read this one. It grabs you from the start and doesn't let go. It is an absolutely wild ride starting from the first paragraph. Werewolves have taken over and humans are not in control...and the main character is caught up in the madness. You root for her from the start and you want her to be okay, and you're constantly wanting to learn more about the mysterious Prince. I also really love the premise of the story, it's so bold and so incredibly fun. This is a great story for people who aren't usually fans of the werewolf genre but want something that surprises them and exceeds their expectations."

Interesting Take

"I have read far too many werewolf stories, where the alpha and future love interest are young teenagers with far too much power. There is always a fated mate, a mate bond, and one of the pair is abused and discarded. You have none of this so far. The characters seem to have good charisma and dialogue. You have just enough anomalies to keep me wondering where you are heading. This is a great distraction from the current mainstream werewolf tropes. Well done."

Green Exchange Awards 2024

"Werewolf stories are abundant on this platform, so it's very difficult to stand out among them. "The Day They Emerged" makes fantastic use of action and politics in its narrative, leaving romance for later. This is something I applaud because Insta-romance isn't my thing. It does, however, fall into the trap of an exceedingly young protagonist who is tossed into a world of extreme violence, intrigue, and the supernatural. It's a difficult challenge to make sure a teenager acts her age while being portrayed as a character with agency. Ashley is a sweet girl, but based on my first impression of her, I don't see her having a meaningful arc. I'm torn between the refreshing originality of this story and the troublesome tropes also present. "
