The good stuff!

"This is one fun read. Interesting characters with witty banter. Patrick writes great dialogue. I can imagine he'd be a great author to have a beer with. Interesting plot. The action moves right along. The emergency medical stuff was written as only one who has seen some serious stuff could do. Patrick has a great sense of History and uses it to good advantage in this book. Most off all though, it's a darn fun read."

Out of Nowhere, an excellent read!!!!

"Out of Nowhere feels familiar to me when I read it. I feel like I know or could have met or meet the characters in my own travels. The characters are genuine and sincere. The banter between characters reminds me of exchanges between my own friends. The author, Patrick LeClerc, knows how to portray real friendships and relationships. And he clearly is familiar with the details of First Responder work. The plot moves at a good paces and he keeps it interesting with little side plots, without letting it spin out of control. His protagonist is witty and likeable, and down to earth as far as his real life problems and struggles. Add to that the smattering of the supernatural and a good old-fashioned mystery/suspense thread, and ther is plenty to keep a reader engaged. I look forward to reading the sequel."

Spenser meets Highlander

"Why Spenser meets Highlander? Because OON is a first person detective story like Parker's Spenser series but with a liberal dash of fantasy. OON's Danet is not your run-of-the-mill detective. He's a paramedic firmly entrenched in the midst of a deadly mystery. It's obvious from the way the LeClerc writes that he has some experience in the EMS field. His attention to clinical details is precise and not only approachable but damned funny. I don't know how many times I laughed through this book. Pretty much every time Danet's partner Pete was on the page and then some. The story never falters, never slows, and leads to a satisfying conclusion that can only be described by as poetic justice. The writing style is smooth and technical skills super clean. I definitely recommend this book for anyone who's a fan of first person detective stories, urban fantasy or just plain good stories."

Out of Nowhere

"I have read this book cover to cover - and reread it in fact. I love LeClerc's style. It's funny, urbane, pacey and his characters are people you'd love to meet. I'd definitely buy more from this author and read more in the Sean Danet series. LeClerc is clearly a very talented and imaginative author who's work deserves a wide audience. The book itself is urban fantasy with a twist of romance. The main character is an immortal which gives plenty of scope to allude to his many other identities and pasts but LeClerc is pretty disciplined about keeping the story rollicking along. You get hints of who Danet has been, and the difficulties and pain of having to constantly suppress who you really are - and travel through much of life alone. So this novel is deeper than the average fantasy thriller because it shows the real obstacles which Danet must overcome are personal and not limited to the inevitable showdown with the villain from his past. I would thoroughly recommend this book and on the back of this Patrick LeClerc as a writer. Cracking stuff."

"A good, captivating story written by someone who did his homework and writes what he knows. He obviously knows the EMS business and the protagonist as well as the supporting characters are believable and are like people you'd run into in real life."

"love LOVE this book! Intelligent, witty, funny and engaging. Picture the blue collar version of Roger Zelazny's "Chronicles of Amber" Series. Instead of our extraordinary man being an aristocrat, he's a regular working class Joe. Like Zelazny's characters, he has special abilities and a hidden past. That's the flavor of the book. Would give 10 stars if I could!"

Thundering Good Thriller

"The main characters are witty and sharp - the people you'd need in a crisis. The other characters seem like people I've met so many times. LeClerk's work is absolutely dependable and are based in an intriguing concept that never fails to lead to tension and trouble. I hope many more books and stories come from this."
