The First And Only Chapter
Far, far away. An antique, shiny, coal-coloured car zoomed across the mazes of turns which led to unfamiliar trees and plants. The day seemed to be chasing the car as the only just risen sun was now tired and making its way down to sleep. The engine muttered an unmistakable hymn of a fully loaded tank, making the passengers inside have one less thing to itch their brains about.
A muscular man, who seemed as though he was the one running rather than the car, was seated in a comfortable position which conflicted with his facial expression. His arms twisted and turned as he precisely pulled off excellent curves that sent both the passengers travelling from one corner of their seat to the other. The driver wore a dimly coloured tuxedo with trousers that looked as if it wore him than he wear it. His hair was fairly black and his surprisingly flawless skin allowing for spectators to infer his commonly correctly guessed age. Beside him sat a woman who was quite the contrast to the radiant man, who often delivered glares at her stealthily. She was thin, golden-haired and had restless eyes that observed everything, from the outside to her pink, pale knees, which kissed each time a speed bump bombarded them brutally.
“What are you searching for?” The man spoke revealing his voice that sounded deeper than the forest that surrounded them outside. He looked at her from the corner of his eyes while keeping hold of the steering wheel with a sturdy clutch.
“I-”
“Never mind what you have to say.” He cut her off arrogantly, once again locking his eyes on the road. The woman bowed her minuscule head, which was proportional to the ratio of her body, and she sealed her pair of rose lips together and rubbed her thighs slowly with her premade fists.
The car came to a halt. Outside was still teamed with elongated trees that bent in irregular patterns that whispered an unpleasant melody of stabbing winds that could be felt and heard as it sliced through the petite gap of the window to the woman’s right.
“We’re lost.” His tone scared her fists. He glared at her with a raise of an eyebrow. “You see that small station there?” He heaved his stiff arms towards the front window. He pointed at a very small cottage which was covered by the concentrated darkness. The woman nodded. “Go there and ask for directions.” He reached for the door to her side, heavily leaning on her fragile shoulders and knees, and opened the car door swiftly. The woman turned and extended her slender legs then sat still.
“It’s cold.” Her soft voice alarmed the man. It sounded as if it could become a cloud that could whisk them away into the dark sky, unfolding streams of stars whilst floating over the agitating twisted roads and abnormal trees, landing them in a familiar place as they both laughed unsynchronised with amazement at the journey.
“It’s just a couple of steps. You’re gonna come back anyways.” She slowly sat up, exposed to the threatening cold. The car door shut abruptly, frightening the woman. The car’s engine started and it raced off into the distance.
The woman stood, staring at the red lights of the car as it flew off into the distance. As the wind abused her into her knees, she saw that she was wrong about everything. Even though her love was stronger than the sword of the wind, it still stabbed her heart as well as seeing him leave her, far, far away.
