Cinderella’s World
“Cinderella, Cinderella, Cinderella” she heard her stepmother calling out to her early one morning “Ugh what? Can’t it wait until I'm out of bed?” she expected the absolute worse to come out of Tremaine’s mouth after her smart-alec comment. Her feet stepped out of the bed and out on her fuzzy slippers before she yawned when Tremaine did not answer her. She opened her door and looked out the window seeing the same mysterious blue fog as Snow White saw. Tremaine looked out in terror at it and ran out of the house as fast as she could with her step sisters running right Tremaine.
Cinderella smirked seeing them run from the fog thinking that if this small of a thing could run them away she should have thought about it years ago. When she looked down she saw the fog taking away the beautiful scenery that surrounded the house disappearing “Oh wow maybe they were...” her words were interrupted when the blue fog from the animated world into the human realm. She went to sleep once the fog hit her and when she woke up she found herself on top of a huge mountain and a massive snowstorm barring down on top of her.
Moments later her blonde eyelashes began to flutter open while her hands rubbed her arms from the coldness. Her teeth clicked together as she stood to her feet and noticed a small cabin not far from her. “Please be abandoned” she mumbled while trying to run through the snow. Once there she opened the door and saw a fire “Is anyone here? Please I'm lost and freezing and I'm able to touch things” A man soon emerged from the darkness beside the fireplace and Cinderella gulped before he smiled at her “Don’t be nervous, beautiful. Nothing to be scared of”
Her radiant eyes brightened up when the man smiled at her “I didn't mean to intrude but can you explain what just happened to us?” the man named Chester Martinez was better known as Arthur in the animated movie Sword in the Stone but now the young boy in the film was a grown man in this strange new world “Your guess is as good as mine, I was about to pull this huge sword out of a rock when that strange blue fog took me away but I must say I like being taller and my voice is deeper”
“Something tells me that this phenomenon is happening all through all animated movies and shows, right before I blacked out I saw this huge castle I have never seen before appear right in front of me,” Cinderella said to him and she wonders how she knew that “How do you even know that? Something strange is going on. Maybe we can set out and see if there are more like us” Chester asked and commented “I wish I knew how I know that, that is beyond me. Yes, I love a good mystery. Say I didn't get your name, I'm Cinderella”
He smiled “You can call me Chester, or Arthur, Cinderella. It does appear that the storm has passed. Do you want to head out or wait till daylight?” she laughs “don't you remember? It was daytime like 15 minutes ago. Let's get going” he started rummaging through cabinets in the home until he found a strange-looking device “what is this thing?” he pressed a button a bright light flashed in his eyes making him fall backward and into Cinderella’s arms “Wow that puts a candle to shame,” she said and he laughs “you aren't kidding, comes on let's get moving” the two gathered up some things they saw laying around the home before taking off into the woods.
Once outside they stood close to each other since it was still cold out and needed some type of warmth. “Do you think we will ever go back to being animated?” she asked him and he sighs “I hope not, it’s nice to feel things in my hands and be able to feel the snow under my feet. Whoever did this I just want to thank them” Cinderella smiled “I see what you mean but for me, it’s more than that. Before everything seemed so fake, when I touched something it felt empty and the guys I would see in town looked so perfect but now seeing you it feels like guys are more rugged and imperfect.” he smiled at her “imperfect is typically bad but for you it’s good?”
She nodded “Yes it's strange huh?” he laughed and shook his head “No I don't think so, it's like I'm a different person here in this world than I was in the last” she understood that in the other world, she was a bit shy and took a beating from her stepmom and stepsisters without standing up for herself. “How so, Chester?” he took a deep breath “because I was an awkward teenager who couldn't get a word out when a pretty girl talked to me and now I can't shut up” he laughs nervously.
She blushed “You think I'm pretty? I am wearing rags and don't feel pretty at all” he smiled at her and touched her hand “You are pretty, no matter what you are wearing. You could be in a ballroom gown or what you are in now and I would still think you are pretty” his words made her heart speed up and she smiled “you are so sweet, Chester and any woman would be lucky to have you” he hung his head before saying “Too bad there is only one woman I want and that is you”
Words left her vocabulary when he said that and all she could do was smile “I can't believe that someone cares for me. All of my life has been one obstacle after another and now I finally have happiness with you” she threw her arms around him and he closed his eyes before holding her gently. She pulled away from him and looked into his eyes, both of them were so young but they both knew what they wanted and that was each other. His lips pressed up against hers and shared their first kiss as humans and as pixels for that matter.
“Maybe we should find shelter somewhere close by since it's getting late but that castle is in sight,” he suggested to her and they found a small abandoned cabin close by and shut themselves in for the night to stay away from another oncoming snow storm. They slept soundly despite hearing the snow and wind banging up against the doors and windows of the home. Cinderella found it peaceful and so did Chester proving to them that they had a lot alike. She woke up first and went to where he slept and knocked on the door.
He was already up looking at the fresh blanket of snow that fell last night “I'm coming, we need to get moving.” he opened the door and saw her smiling and had new clothes on “look what I found in this cabin! I had a closet full of clothes and all of them are my size. Talk about a weird turn of events” he laughs and said “Loving the look and you can cold weather ready” he grabbed her hand and pulled her outside excited to get to this castle just a short way off.
They rushed right to the castle door and noticed it took some damage when it merged from the animation world into this world “this does not look good” Chester commented seeing the door having claw marks almost like a wild beast escaped the castle “Chester please be careful” Cinderella commented while holding onto his arm when he looked and noticed a dislodged sword was hanging inside the door frame. He picked it up but then saw a woman resembling snow white walking out and all she said over and over was “Beware the bite, travelers” it was then Chester felt another bite, the same bite Devin felt before he disappeared.
“Ouch what was that?” Snow White’s eyes went wide “Hold on to your love, I lost my love to that bite. This world is a trap for all men.” Cinderella immediately held on to him but within seconds he was gone in front of her and she fell sobbing into her hands “why do all bad things happen to me?” she mumbled between sobs but Snow White went beside her “it's not just you, I lost everything yesterday and I have been going crazy ever since looking for my sweet Devin. Why not join me on this journey so both of us can try to save our men” Cinderella looked at her and all she wanted was to get her Chester back in her arms. “Count me in, I need my Chester. I am Cinderella by the way” Snow White smiled and said “We will be a team then. My name is Snow White, honor to meet you, Cinderella” the two girls have lost the battles but they will win this war against this silent opponent.
