The boy who lived

There was once a boy with an innocent heart.

Unbeknownst to him he didn't have a great start.

He was loving and kind with a curious mind.

The parents who created him didn't equal one parent combined.

He was left feeling empty and scared all the time.

Seeking acceptance but none would he find.

Years would go by and things would get worse.

He found himself asking why was I blessed with this curse.

He would keep getting older with his heart growing colder.

He changed from a boy to being a man not seeing the weight that built on his shoulders.

Mistakes would be made and his heart more shattered.

So many times asking did his life even matter.

But deep down inside him the boy was alive.

Though lifeless and weak he somehow survived.

He heard his voice and everything changed.

The second it sounded his life rearranged.

No longer angry and mad at the world.

The thorns that entangled his heart they uncurled.

He nurtured the boy until he was back to good health.

His existence became joyous and all of his wealth.

The boy is now his most precious gift.

He is walking with purpose no longer adrift.

The boy who was born saved the man who was lost.

So I guess it was worth all he went through no matter the cost.

mariedavismd312: This was Avery spiritual read. The last 2 chapters where very disappointing. That was such a let down unless there is a sequel. Burgess should have been punished for what he did. There was no explanation for his hatred for Jeremiah. I figured he was being set but just had the wrong person. I loved ...
