Bella tried to lean towards him, but her chest ached, causing her to cough blood. Bella looked at the blood in her hands. Tears swelled up in her eyes and began escaping. Why did he have to see her like this? Why must she end up hurting him, too? Bella coughed once more, waking Jake up in the process. He looked at her sleepy and blinked twice, his eyes widened in horror at the sight of her coughing up blood. "Mera," he said, concerned. She looked at him with tears in her eyes. "I'll call the doctor -" she cut him off by holding his grey shirt, staining it with her bloody hands. She shook her head and sobbed silently. Jakes lips parted. He kneeled beside her and cleaned her hand with a wet wipe. "Please, Mera, please see the doctor," he said softly with tears in his eyes. She shook her head and held his hand. Jake sat beside her on the bed and leaned forward. He kissed her lips gently, and she found herself kissing him subconsciously.

PROLOGUE

The atmosphere was energetic, Everyone was dancing and having a great time. The club lights flashed with no rhythm to the music whatsoever. Jake Glenworth sipped his drink slowly and watched Nico Francis from the corner of his eye. Nico was a middle-aged man with black eyes and greasy black hair. He had tanned skin and wore a designer Italian black suit and a top hat. Jake sipped his drink once more as a blonde girl in a skimpy dress walked up to him. She leaned forward and whispered something in his ear, which he nodded to and stood up. Jake gulped the last of his drink in one shot and stood up, bumping into someone.

His eyes were intense for a split second but eventually calmed down at the sight of the black-haired girl in front of him laying on the floor. She had beautiful pale and glassy skin with crystal blue eyes that were clear and as pure as water as if the young girl in her early 20s had no regrets in life at all. Her white T-shirt was stained with the color of her alcoholic beverage. Jake extended his hand, which the girl hesitated, but soon took it , he helped her back on her feet. She was much shorter than him, yet in his eyes, he found it cute. "I'm sorry about that, it's on me," he said calmly and signaled the waiter to give her whatever she wanted. "I hope to see you again, " he winked and left. The girl watched him leave and frowned.

Men! She sighed. "Bella, he was nice and would make a hot boyfriend," Lisa the bartender gushed. Lisa was a local college student. She was extremely shy, yet once you got to know her, she could be quite dramatic and forward, and that is why people avoided her. Isabella was one of the few people who were genuine around her and did not mind her forwardness. Lisa treasured the one friend she had but only knew a little about her, like the fact that her name was Isabella Agreste and she was a British girl who was on vacation. "If you find him that interesting, then you can have him," she shrugged. "You don’t ever want to date. Are you planning on dying alone? "she frowned and crossed her arms. "That was the original plan, " she mumbled only this time her British accent came out much clearer than before. "Whatever you say," she rolled her eyes dramatically. "He seems like the persistent type. If he comes back and asks, say you don’t know me, nor do you pay much attention," she said firmly, paying for her bill. "I'll see you around, Lisa." she smiled cheerfully and waved her friend goodbye. "Bye,"her friend waved her goodbye and smiled cheerfully.

Jake stood on the roof of the building and watched as Nico talk to a skinny man.The man stumbled back and fell on his knees as Nico laughed at him and shot his head. Nico smirked and kept his gun away. The middle-aged man turned around and came face to face with the young girl from the bar, who watched him too afraid to say anything. Her pure eyes were now consumed with sadness and pain. It widened in horror at the sight of the blood. Jake frowned and clenched his fist. Why did she have to be here now? Nico forcefully grabbed her hand and pulled her further into the dark alley. He slammed her on her wall, causing the girl to cough blood. Nico smirked and pulled out his gun once more, pointing it at the young girl.

Jake hissed and shot Nico's hand without thinking twice. Bella coughed up more blood. Jake swiftly jumped down and pointed his gun at Nico's head as he walked closer. He stood beside her girl and frowned. His features were now much clearer to her. Jake had chocolate brown hair and intense green eyes. He had sharp yet handsome features with pale skin. Bella watched him too weak to move. "If you want the girl, you can have her once I kill her -" Jake shot his head, killing him instantly in the process. He picked Bella up, bridal style. She tried pushing him away with the little strength that she had left. However, he did not move an inch. Bella frowned and slapped him, hoping that he'd let her go. Jake's face turned red from Bella's outburst, and he frowned and held her more firmly. "You are hurt, so stop being stubborn," he hissed and pieced a needle in her arm through her leather jacket. Tears escaped from Bella's eyes as she fell into a deep, dreamless sleep. Jake sighed and carried her away.

Obsidian: He's hilarious. Like, actually. I loved it. You're writing style is great, although you could do with a few less murmurs and mutters. I know it sounds critical, but I have the same problem and I hate it. Overall, it was one of the best stories I've read on here so far. I liked it better than those M...
