Introduction

Commander,

Your request for an audience with the Courtship has been denied, again. Even as I am, I lack the ability to overturn their decisions; my Messengers of the Guardium can only work along the parameters they set. I apologize. Sincerely, I do.

It has been five years since Orbital Bombardment nearly destroyed your world, five years given to grow and rebuild anew by the grace of Gaia. Yet still, you haven’t changed and I doubt you ever will. Playing with lives, bugging our correspondence with Boreas sweeper files in order to gain access to the Rayvine net (clever), it’s all you and I’d be a liar if those qualities weren’t the same that I fell in love with and led to our interlocking bodies over the cast of Quan-Vek’s sister suns. But we must all see ourselves beyond our worst selves. The Rayvine must take action.

There is no unity among your people. And Gaia remains unprotected so long as we do not safeguard Her from higher forces.

I implore you take this rejection as your final warning: pursue information on The Powers protocol and the Courtship will have no choice but to file full delinquency on all of humankind. That is all on—and—off world. Immediate execution.

To answer your previous question, the answer is no. Gaia is not something we can awaken nor a weapon for you; Her intervention during the comet storm was an exception. Our top ministries are still trying to chart the occurrence. If you want Her help, then you will have to do it the right way: with a Messenger. Have you even considered this approach?

Otherwise, I suggest the Tribes of Earth begin to coordinate an offensive line for when, or if they arrive. If you can manage that much.

Moments ago, I received word that a young human man has landed aboard our station claiming to hear Gaia speaking to him. Someone named Illian. What have you done this time? Considering your current plight, his arrival can only mean one of two outcomes: I die, or you’ve finally realized something without my telling you. Your salvation comes when She can finally speak.

I should prepare for intruders just in case. Our correspondence has been flagged by customs and is under review. Do not contact me again.

Zor.
