The Mirror Lady.
Okay, let's keep this sweet and simple, so first of all this is my warning; DO NOT READ THIS!
I warned you!
It was my first week in med school. I just turned 19 at the time and had finally decided to overcome my shyness and start talking to people. My first impressions were usually awkward, but I always managed to make things work the second time. I usually talked to a few students in my class, but after a while my social anxiety would kick in and I would end the conversation in a panic and without notice. Other students thought I was weird, but I didn't really care since I was already starting to see some progress.
One time we were carrying out an experiment in the physics laboratory, when a lady walked up to me. She had a somewhat pale-looking skin and really weird eyes that almost bulged out of her sockets. Her face was slightly deformed in a way that reminded me of Jack the Ripper's last victim. She held a mirror in her hand, and I immediately got a sense of deja vu. I pretended not to notice her, but she tapped me on my shoulder and I immediately threw up in my stomach, as I tried my best not to show any signs of disgust.
"Oh, hi there!" I greeted, in a pathetic attempt at giving a smile. She stood there looking at me, as if she could tell I was disgusted by her appearance. I looked back at her, anticipating a response but she said nothing.
"I see you're dressed in your lab coat, are you a part of this practical?" She still said nothing and kept on staring intensely at me as she grinned, causing my soul to cringe. I was starting to get really uncomfortable and decided to leave, but as soon as I turned around she responded.
"Pardon my behavior, I was only fascinated by your reflection in my mirror" she said, in a creepy voice that almost sounded threatening. I paused as I heard her speak. She almost had me in some sort of trance and I immediately felt there was more to her than I thought. I turned around facing her, and made an attempt to soften the tone of the conversation.
"Huh, so are you some kind of psychic?"
"No, I was only fascinated by your reflection in my mirror" she repeated, as her wide grin now exposed her missing set of teeth. Her unusually long tongue was now clearly visible, and she immediately pushed it back in with both her hands.
"Oh my goodness, you're-"
"Yes, I am" she interrupted, clearly indicating she was on to me. I was starting to have second thoughts about this lady as she stared at me, but she immediately said something and somehow managed to convince me to stay.
"You saw me in your dreams... I was the lady with the mirror." I froze right where I stood, and instantly felt my hairs straighten out right from their roots.
"Oh my God!" I shrieked, as I cried out for help with my eyes. I had really seen her in my dreams before and each time I saw her, she would be holding a mirror in her hand and would grin as she stuck out her long bloody tongue.
The last time I saw her, she murdered someone with a knife. A woman was just coming out of a store with a brand new mirror she had bought. I could tell she was a heavy smoker because she had brought out a huge roll of cigarette which she lit. She miscalculated her steps and ended up falling down with the cigarette in-between her face and the mirror. Suddenly, the smoke from her cigarette filled the air as its particles moved around violently. The cigarette had badly burnt the woman's face, and she struggled to see as blood covered her eyes. She yelled and screamed but no one was close by. The shop itself was empty and I was starting to wonder where she had gotten the mirror.
She kept on losing blood as she screamed louder and louder. I tried to help, but a voice stopped me. It warned me not to go any closer, else I would lose my life. It also threatened to murder my entire family, and feed their body to the hungry beasts of the underworld once she was done with me. Immediately she said this, I could not feel my body. In the real world it was sleep paralysis, but where I was I knew it was not. I was trapped in position, as silly as it might sound. I tried to move my arms, but I had lost control of them. It was as if this demonic entity was trying to save me from itself. I watched as she moved closer to the bleeding woman. She held a broken mirror in her right hand and a really blunt knife in the other, and moved slowly in her torn gown which revealed her legless body.
The bleeding woman felt her presence and tried to escape. She kept screaming louder and louder as she staggered on the same spot. It was a disturbing scene and each time she fell, I cried my eyes out knowing I could not help her in any way. The legless lady suddenly stopped and continued to watch the staggering lady, as she let out a sadistic grin. Within a flash, she plunged the knife deep into the helpless lady's cleavage. I wept bitterly as she made horrific incisions in the woman's breasts, and finally cut one of them out. She kept on grinning as she took a bite from the bleeding amputated breast, causing more blood to spill out. I was sick to my stomach, but my vomit was not able to come out. She had froze everything but my consciousness. She made me witness such horror, and laughed hysterically as I wept my heart out. She finally had enough of my pathetic grieving and picked up the broken mirror as she moved close to me. My heart finally burst when she slowly drew the knife across my skin. She laughed once more and turned my face towards the mirror, and what I saw practically murdered my soul.
My reflection had been graphically distorted. My pale skin was rotting and blood poured out from each pore. My mouth was slashed and tilted across my face. Eyes bulged out from the rotten skin that surrounded my eye sockets, as blood with blood slowly running across my face. I turned away from the mirror in terror as I gasped for life. I looked back at the dead lady, but the remains of her corpse had mysteriously vanished. I now saw the legless lady float away in her gown. I looked closely at her face, to see if I could identify her. She now turned out to be the dead lady, and she kept on laughing as she looked at her mirror. She had left a blood mark on my skin and I knew I was next. She warned me never to tell anyone about this or they too would be visited.
Some weeks before, my friend had told me about her experience with a legless lady. She had seen this lady in her dreams and told her parents about it. Her parents immediately died in a car crash two days after she had told them. The following week, she was soon announced missing. I suspected the woman had killed her, but I was not one to believe dreams so I came up with a logical reason for her disappearance and tried to distract myself from worrying about my own death, since she had also told me about the dream.
A few days later, I saw on the news that the police had come across a body in one of the dark alleys on the street. To my terror, it was my friend. She had been murdered in the same manner as the lady she saw in her dream. One of her breast had been ripped out clean, and there were also pieces of broken mirror under her face. The thought of being the next victim sent shivers down my spine, and I immediately got rid of all the mirrors in my house and replaced all the lightings. I basically did everything I could to ward of this spirit and protect myself, even though deep down I knew it was only a matter of time before I was murdered. I wrote down this story so everyone would know the cause of my death.
If you're reading this, I want you to know that my daughter died two days after she wrote this on her laptop. She told me about the pale lady that visited her, and I'm certain she was the legless lady she saw in her dream. I know she as moved on as the legless woman. I can no longer find the mirror in her room and I know she took it with her. I'm helping her edit this draft before I get murdered. You have no idea how much pains I'm in right now at the thought of being murdered by my own daughter. But it's fine though, cause I know I won't be the last one to die. Whatever you do, just don't turn off the lights and stay away from everyone with a mirror. I tried my best to warn you, but you didn't listen. I know you never signed up for this, and neither did I. I'm really sorry but now that you've read this, after I die, YOU ARE NEXT! And there's nothing you can do about it!
