Chapter 1: In Paris Again
The feeling of nostalgia washed over me as I landed in Paris it has been 5 years since my last visit.
Anna was getting married and I was her matron of honor. The wedding will be in Lille not too far from Paris. The northern town has a rich history and is also her hometown.
I learnt that Ava's dad has shares in this hotel so I'm back here much to my delight. Ava and the girls will come tomorrow. I opted for a family suite as my husband and kids are with me.
Antoine is such a sweet, tender and considerate husband. We met 4 years ago at a conference, dated for about a 6 months then he popped the question. We were married by the end of the year. He knew what he wanted and he made it happen.
The twins are turning 2 in a few weeks. He has made our marriage easy; from hiring a Nanny to upgrading features of our home he just makes it work. I'm just happy he is happy.
I am sitting on the edge of the bed watching him cuddled up with the twins...the long flight has knocked out all their energy. I guess it takes some getting use to, plus the kids got fussy after awhile.
I think I'm gonna slip out for a walk while they nap but first I will order room service so they can have something warm when they get up and I definitely need to leave him a noted before turns Paris upside down to find me.
I slipped into a yellow summer dress with a white scarf and sandals and head to the lobby. I decided to walk so I can enjoy the night air.
As I walk along the street just outside Regina Louvre Hotel where we are staying I thought of just stopping by Cafe Mollien an catch glimpses of the museum.
As I entered I scanned the airy space for quiet corner. I see a quaint little table that seats two, so I walk over. I pull out my book ready to get lost in my world. The waitress walk over and I order a ice latte and a kpyacah, which she takes over immediately.
I began reading and got lost for hours. I was drawn back to reality by the smooth sound of a familiar male voice; as he said bonjour, I froze but my stomach felt like a volcano was about to erupt, worse yet my pussy was jumping happily. It seemed I took forever to look up so he continued:
"Are you ok love?"
"Don't call me that", I replied softly.
"Did I do something wrong", he retorted.
"No but I doubt my husband would appreciate hearing you call me that", I clarified.
"Oh my baby girl got married, I think I should sit down so we can catch up it's been what 5 years, a long time huh", he said as he pulled out a chair.
I close my book and finally lifted my head to look at this masterpiece of a man. He sure was looking way too yummy. I guess I was staring far too long because I heard him say " I'm sure your husband would not be happy with you looking at me like you are at the brink of ripping my clothes off". I was so embarrassed my face became flush.
I apologized and switched my focus to my half eaten lunch. I fiddle with the cup and poke at the pastry. I was so focused on the table that I didn't realize Obrien had gotten up and is standing behind me. He slowly brought his lips to my neck and quietly whispered "why the hell did you do that?"
Him being so close had me nervous, it's like my body remembered him and was aching for his touch. He smelled so good, his body barely touched me and my skin was on fire. I wanted him but I couldn't let it show. I'm married for God's sake, I should not want another man.
I swallowed hard and ask what he meant.
He quickly replied "get married, that was our thing to do".
"It's been 5 years, we have not spoken, what did you expect? I moved on...I'm married and have a beautiful pair of twin", I replied annoyed.
He stepped back and returned to his original spot then proceeded to apologize.
"My Love I am sorry, I did not mean to upset you nor was it my intention to offend you. I am truly sorry", " So tell me more about your family, how are you enjoying it, being a wife and a mother?".
I calmed down and told him about my husband and kids, all the roses and the good stuff. He listened and smiled but said nothing. I continued and as he seemed quite interested and then I finished by asking him how he has been?
He told me about the success of his business and other things about his brand and work. So I had to ask if there no family changes. He chuckled and said his soulmate, the girl he was waiting to marry got hitched and had kids so he guess his meant to be alone forever.
He went on to say he checked with Ava and Anna a few times but they told him to let go and move on as there is no future for us.
He went on to say that he check in couples circles to get my private contact and that's how he knew I got married. He added that he didn't want to cause any problems so he just left it alone. He mentioned that he only took the invite to Anna's wedding because he knew I would be here.
His confession had me speechless, all I could do was stare, I was honestly lost for words.
He changed the topic by asking about my company. The conversation got light as one thing led to another as we chatted away. After about 2 hours we were ready to go.
I told him I was gonna go back to my hotel and yes, he was staying there too. Apparently his dad has shares too and that's how they all met.
We decided to walk over together; as we walked along people kept staring and and old couples said "oh what a beautiful young couples. They are just like we were. It was just easier to smile and nod than to go explain, so we just accepted the compliments and move along our way.
