CHPT. I
CHAPTER ONE;
alexandria’s pov
Everything about being told I was a witch shocked me. I had no idea that the things I could do were magic. Even my parents were shocked - my mother had been a Muggle and even though my father was a Pureblood wizard, they hadn’t thought I would inherit Father’s magical abilities.
I remember the first day of Hogwarts clearly. How could I not? The first person I met would be my best friend later on, my second half and most of all... my first love.
Yes, I know you may be thinking that it would be ridiculous to love someone that fast, especially at the mere age of eleven. But something about George made me want to change myself for him, even though I knew that he wouldn’t like me unless I was myself. Not saying that I couldn’t be myself; he made me so comfortable by being me.
flashback:
I made my way onto the train, frowning in confusion as everyone around me, the older kids in green, seemed to be disgusted at the thought of going to school again. I always loved school - I also always loved to read, it was my favorite pastime.
As I walked into an empty compartment, I felt myself being shoved and then an exclaim of surprise. “I’m so sorry!” I heard, and I turned around, ready to retaliate with the person who had so rudely shoved me.
But once I had gone to open my mouth, no words came out. I tried saying it was okay, but still, no words emptied. “I’m sorry, m-my brother pushed me and I guess I - are you alright? You look like you’ve seen a ghost!”
I shook my head clearing my thoughts quickly. “Whatever, just don’t do it again.” I snarled, turning back to go into my compartment. Unfortunately, he followed.
“I’m George, by the way!” the boy chirped cheerfully. “I didn’t ask,” I replied coldly. He frowned ever-so-slightly, but his smile still plastered onto his face. I rolled my eyes at him, seeing as he was standing in the compartment I chose.
“Weren’t you just leaving?” I asked, raising an eyebrow. He shook his head merrily, sitting down across from me.
“My brother Charlie is a Prefect, so him and my brother Fred, who wanted to help him, are going to patrol the corridors before the train arrives at Hogwarts!”
“Oh.” I said, quietly, and looking down at the book in my hand. An awkward silence emitted among the two of us and after a while, I heard him speak up.
“So, whats your name?” he asked, casually.
“None of your business.” I said, just as casually, but with more attitude. He frowned, not expecting my retort to be that harsh.
“What did — did I do something?" he asked quietly, fidgeting with his fingers nervously.
"What? No." I said, now frowning myself. "I-I'm sorry, I'm just nervous and I just want this to go as smoothly as planned, you know?"
"By the way, my name's Darcy."
He nodded, looking around the compartment with a much lighter expression.
"So..." he started, looking up at me hopefully. "Want to be friends?" I thought about it, and decided why not? Nothing could wrong, right?
"Yes. Friends."
