Chapter 1
Never have I seen a land endowed with riches, Fertile land and every good thing one would wish to have like that of Ledepal. It is a land flowing with milk and honey. Any good thing you can think about is found in the land, good educational system, Abundance in food supply,Good governance,stabled economy and so on.Having a few population,Ledepal is divided into three regions;Faroga,Lepal and Hungshina.
The people of Ledepal enjoyed peace and worked in unity until a particular event occurred that brought Ledepal to her knees.They were invaded by the neighbouring country Nepole.The war did affect Ledepal.As at the time the war broke, thousands of people died, people running helter Skelter.Parent running leaving their children.Apparently,it happened that Ledepal was infiltrated by spies without the Ledepal knowledge and when it was time ,The Border was opened by those spies for the Nepolians soldiers to start the war.
The war was terrible.The Nepolians were ruthless.Slitting the throats of many, gouging out theirs eyes. They were referred to as Beast in human skin. In order to salvage the problem,the president decided to ransom his life for his people and He was never heard of again. The land of Ledepal was back up again thanks to the president's sacrifice and the effort of the people's unity.
Each time He was told the story by his father,He was always paranoid about the war although it happened Thirty years ago. Even though He wasn't present during the war. He fears that the war might happen again. Reagan could only but imagine the inhuman things that happened to his people. His family resides in Faroga district. His father,Benedict Flugo: A mechatronics engineer ,that worked with the government, His mother Teresa flugo worked as a nurse. His older sister Carolina Flugo was two years older than him. The system of schooling in Ledepal was fast. The Government were more interested in a child's talent and how he can contribute to the nation's growth,so the years spent in school is Five.
Reagan was in year four. He had his two besties by his side Thomas
Lucross and Elena Blair. While they were discussing a particular topic in the school cafeteria, Thomas changed the subject matter to their Future career prospects;What would you like to be? He asked as he took a bit of his sandwich.
As for me I would like to become a doctor; Elena responded. What about you she said as she looked at Reagan.
Marine engineer; Reagan answered confidently. Laughter was about to spill out from both Thomas and Elena. Don't make me laugh, you engineer. You flunked Physics and Technical drawing; Elena said mockingly. Well there is nothing impossible, if you can focus you can do it. I would like to be a mechatronics engineer just like your dad; Thomas said. He kept fantasizing on his dreams and his plans.
Reagan didn't need anyone to tell him that he wasn't fit to be an engineer. To be honest,He didn't know what to become. He seemed to be the only one concerned about his Nation's security. Although policies had been made that no one can come into Ledepal and no one could leave Ledepal in reference to the previous war.
But that didn't satisfy Reagan. He knew that his country was insecured but he couldn't identify it. During his History class while his teacher Mr. Clive was discussing about The world war 2 and how it affected all nations globally. Reagan asked a question.
To you,what would had been the best way of resolving the previous war that happened rather than the president being taken captive. He had his ear twisted and was scolded by the teacher. After the class was over,Mr Clive signalled Reagan to come . He could see the rage on Reagan face; I believe you know that it was necessary you should know that no one wants to recall the terrible war that happened before, and besides I had to do it because you got your classmates scared. Our nation is quite mysterious but just discard the story and memory of the war If you want to make progress; He said as he patted Reagan's head
Reagan did know that something was off what was the government hiding, something was fishy. But for a nine year old boy it was none of his concern but he wasn't just going to follow what everyone did and live in a zombified state. He was going to search for truth. He smiled at his thought as he arrived home.
