Summary

Arji’s civil war became Polathrin’s demise. The mother planet committed a genocide on the moon for the sake of a prophecy, but what if it merely fulfilled it? Ten years after, five teen orphans — Zak, Akio, Ramza, Rozmo and Mia — have survived together on Polathrin using their bloodmarks and determination. When Arji attacks again, it forces the group into unknown territory. There, they are impossibly transported to the surface of the main planet, Arji. As they enter the new world, hoping for peace and a simple life, they quickly learn anyone from Polathrin is labeled a wanted criminal. In order to hide in a civilized country, the group must learn about politics, history, and religion while on the run. Legends of the past paint a one-sided story of Arji while also paving the group’s destiny. A Meli. A Colorine. A Valinor. A Sword. A Shield. Which is their fate and which is a choice?

Beginning and Ending

"There is a story of three. Sometimes it's a mother and her sons, other times three children, and a few think it's the planets themselves. It doesn't matter your version, it all ends the same. They're bound; tossed into the world with chains on their ankles, linking them forever.

"The question isn't whether they will depart from one another, because the universe would never allow it. Instead, it's how they interact. How their existence together, the bond, creates them. It decides who they are more than they can fathom. We call it fate, destiny, legend, prophecy, always a fancy name, but in reality, it's just the relentless bond.

"They callously pull and push and throw and stretch, causing ultimate chaos to not only each other, but to those around them. Their place in the world becomes a wrecking ball. A terrifying destruction that both undoes and remakes at the same time.

"Their bond is their beginning, and their end. Their success and their failure. Their charted path and their unknown future. And it ends only when they realize what's been holding them together the whole time; when they finally fathom the power they held only by their combination of strength. But it's always too late by then. Because like any good story, they're never wise to the higher power, only their own vision."
