OFF TO SPACE

Solar. My name is Solar. Ever since I was little, I dreamed of becoming a astronaut. Now I'm 10 years old. In the 4th grade.

I am determined to become the first person to land on Mars. I am in spring break. I have to study. I study 14 hours a day. I am great at most subjects except Russian. All astronauts must speak Russian to go to space.

My parents support me lots. That is part of why I am going to the best school here in Kansas. My classmates often call me "nerd" but... I don't care .

When I study, it's like I get liberated from the chains holding on to me. And I also have my best friend Liam. He is popular but kind. He defends me so he is kind of like my body guard. When ever Liam tells people to " Back off " with his stern voice, The bullies do without and questions.

I am lucky to have him as my friend. But sometimes, he gets jealous. 1 day, he said,"How come you remembered pi in 1 day?! You are too smart to be my friend Solar!" But then I was stupid enough to reply,

" It's easy! Just remember it with a song! 3.14 159265358979323846462388419-" I was cut off. " UGH I am so tired of you and your bragging!" Then he left. I wasn't planning to brag. I was being hated by all my classmates. Then I cried. I cried until I passed out. It was heartbreaking to loose Liam.

I remember that I woke up on my bed, my mother sitting next to me.
