CHAPTER-1

People change, they never remain the same. Daring people don't always remain brave. The weak don't persist to be vulnerable. They change, both, for the good and for the bad.

Tears glistened in their eyes as everyone looked at their king taking his last breathes.

King Frederick had reigned for four decades and was known for his bravery at the battlefield and kindness towards his people. He was the reason for the prosperity and peace in the kingdom.

The once brave king now looked so frail as if there was nothing left in him except his bones.

His sons, his generals, his trusted men and a healer were all present in his room. The palace was sombre and everyone held their breathes as it was hard to hear their king whose voice could hardly be heard.

The old man already felt like death was close and was slowly overtaking every part of his being.

Everyone knew that he had just little time.

The words that left his mouth were in fragments but enlivened everyone who heard them.

"Alar..Alaric, I'll be go..ne soon and everyth..ing is going to chan..ge. You need to protect this kingd..om. D..Do not misjudge."

The words were meant for his elder son, Alaric. As soon as he heard them his shoulders tensed and he let out a short ragged breathe.

The king then looked at his general who was also his long time friend and gave his final verdict.

"I, King Fred..derick of Delan, declare crown prince Alaric as the new king. He will now be the tru..e ruler of Delan and cann..ot be displaced from his right of inheritance. Take care o-"

He could not complete his words as he succumbed to his destiny .Death had crawled up his heart and mind, engulfing them and had left just a corpse behind.

As soon as the king let out a sigh, the healer sitting beside him let out an irregular breathe and tears rolled down his eyes.

"The king is dead, long live the king !"

Tears rolled down their eyes as they watched Alaric close the eyes of the King. They had spent most of their lives with him and wouldn't hesitate to kill anyone who intended to harm him. It was melancholic for them to see their companion die in front of them. Alaric along with his brother was sitting down at his father's feet and grieved for his loss.

A few minutes passed as everyone mourned for the brave warrior, when Alaric lifted his head and enunciated in a callous tone.

"Long live the king !!"

With this, the death knell rang, alarming everyone of the death of King Frederick.

Chaos ensued in the kingdom as everyone mourned his death.

The palace was filled with sobbing and cries.

Some felt that it was the beginning of a new period while others believed that this was the emergence of the downfall.

But who knew what was coming for them was far worse than a downfall.

In another part of the palace, Cyril was fuming when he heard about the accession of Alaric. He believed that after what happened with his father, he was the one who truly deserved to be the king. He had tried persuading everyone but nobody paid heed to him. Everyone was busy with the preparations of the coronation. But he knew that this time he would not back down. He was going to take what was his even if it meant destroying the kingdom.

He had no idea what he intended to do would result in something lot worse than destruction. It was going to be a carnage.

Where the only one who will be benefited would be

The wrecker and .....Death.

There’s something profoundly human in your writing. You don’t just build characters, you unfold them. Their emotions, flaws, and little sparks of hope make the story feel heartbreakingly alive. It’s rare to see writing that captures both pain and beauty so effortlessly. This chapter in particular carried a quiet strength; it hit harder than I expected, and it stayed. You’ve created something that resonates on a soul level.

Hi! I just finished reading your story and I really enjoyed it. The way you’ve built the characters and the flow of the story is very engaging, and it honestly feels like something that would look amazing in comic form. The visuals, emotions, and action moments could really come alive if adapted properly. I was just wondering, do you already have a comic version of it? If not, I’d genuinely love to talk about the possibility of adapting it into a comic and working together on it.
