CHAPTER 1
Bang!!! The door of the bedroom was heavily pushed opened startling the occupant of the room.
Her eyes widened in shock but when she saw the person who came in, she placed her palm on her chest and took a breath of relief.
"Kaiden!!! What's the meaning of this".
Cheryl Glevon who just recovered from the short shock scolded in displeasure.
"Have you finally lost it that you will barge into my room in such manner?".
She was dissatisfied and annoyed with her younger son's actions. His action startled her so much that she almost collapsed from fear.
Her anger could be seen in the way her chest rose and fell as she spoke.
The young man ignored her and strode into the room, with lines of anger drawn on his face.
"Why shouldn't I barge into your room Mom?" With his hands in his pants pockets, Kaiden glared furiously at his mother.
"Who the heck is the person in my house?" His voice was thunderous and filled with fury.
"Who are you talking about KD?" It seemed her son wasn't making sense. Did he take the wrong medication?
"Don't pretend you don't know mom!! Who is the female human in my house?" He questioned in annoyance.
Cheryl Glevon narrowed her eyes meaningfully, her lips raised a bit. "Oooh!! You mean Emily?"
Her lips widened the more as her face beamed with smiles. Emily is indeed fast. She thought.
"Mom!! You haven't answered my question".
If not that the person before him was his mother, he would have given her a push.
"I answered you son". She spread her hands nonchalantly, then turned to sit on the couch.
"You asked who she is and I gave you an answer. She's Emily".
Kaiden stared intently at her, then pulled his hair angrily.
Does she think it was a joke? He came back after a long day only to see an intruder in his house dressed provocatively.
Instead of giving him a good explanation, his mother was rather not yielding.
Taking a deep breath he strode closer to her. "What's she doing in my house mom?".
"Now you've asked another question". She clicked her tongue.
"To get along with you".
So it was like that? To get along with him.
"Mom!! You no longer send them to my office but to my house!!!".
Shutting his eyes to suppress his anger which was almost exploding, he punched the couch she was sitting on, startling her.
"Do you know I can sue her for burglary or even trespassing?".
The two words struck her eardrum, causing her to snap her head toward him.
"You wouldn't dare Kaiden!!!". She rose in confrontation.
Suddenly, he burst into a hysteric sinister laughter, confusing her. But as soon as the laughter ended, his eyes darkened and became too cold.
His expression was scary. There was no trace of emotion on his face.
He glared coldly at her. Who does his mom think she is? Is she daring him? Has she forgotten his ability?. He can do what he just said.
He has lost count of ladies she sent to his office to seduce him. Does she even know how annoying her actions were?
Severally, he had pleaded with her to stop but instead, she decided to give out his keys!!
Spare keys to his house!!! The keys in her possession!!. How dare she give out his keys to a stranger and here she is, justifying her action.
Maybe, it's time to retrieve his keys from her and it's also time to put her in her space. Enough of her unreasonable actions!!
"The next time you try this Cheryl Glevon, I will put aside blood relation and give you a taste of ruthlessness".
That voice sent a chill down her spine. It was cold, evil, and deep.
Did he just call her by her name? This was her son!! She watched him grow!! But can't say when he became a demon.
She stared at him in shock, her mouth hung open.
Giving her one last warning stare, he turned and walked out.
"Kaiden!! I did it for you!! It's for your good!!". She finally recovered from her shock.
All she had done was for her son's happiness. Every mother's wish was for her children to be happy.
Her words caused him to stop in his track. He sneered, then turned around.
"You did it for me? Is that what you said?". He walked slowly but fiercely towards her.
This isn't my son!! She took several steps away from him until her back met the wall.
"Kaiden stop!!!". Her scream alerted her elder son and younger daughter who came running to the room only to see the shocking scene before them.
Their mother leaning on the wall trembling in fear and their brother staring fiercely at her.
His body emitting a dangerous aura that they felt the moment they stepped into the room.
Holy cow!! This isn't good. The elder son was shocked at the sight before him.
Kaiden was his younger brother. He knew him very well. He wouldn't be so furious if their mother hadn't provoked him.
He had seen Kaiden before in such mood before and the aftermath was something he wouldn't want to remember.
That part of his brother was more dangerous than a communicable disease.
"Cheryl Glevon didn't consider what will be good for me when she killed Penelope and her family". So much sarcasm in his voice.
His words struck her like thunderbolt. She gazed at him painfully. His words were like several daggers pierced into her heart.
"I didn't kill them!! I didn't!!!". Tears streamed down her face.
For how long will she bear the pain of this accusation? She didn't kill them, but her son wouldn't believe her?
"You didn't kill them, but you chased them to their death!!! Isn't that the same as killing them?".
"Stop!!! Stop!!!". She lowered her body and squatted, her hands gripping her hair tightly as she screamed in frustration.
"Enough Kaiden!!". Sylvester Glevon, his elder brother couldn't take it anymore.
Everyone knew how the death of the Smiths had affected their mother.
No one has spoken of that incident for a long time until now.
He strode to him and pulled him away from their mother. "Enough!!!".
Dusting the invisible dust off his T-shirt, Kaiden looked fixedly at his brother.
"Talk to your mother!!" Then angrily stormed out of the room.
The moment Kaiden left them, Sylvester hurriedly helped their mother up and made her sit on the king-size bed.
"I didn't kill them Sylv!!". She sobbed uncontrollably.
"I know mom. I believe you". It hurt him to see her so pained.
"He doesn't believe me. Kaiden doesn't believe me". Her voice was more like a whisper.One could tell how pained and hurt she was.
Isabella, Kaiden's sister couldn't bear to watch the scene. She sighed sadly and left the room. Why did Kaiden resurrect a dead issue? Why?
