Prologue
Prologue.We, as humans, are flawed. But what is a flaw, by definition? It is something that other humans, who are also flawed, see as bad. Opinion clashed with opinion, construct versus construct. So why did we become this way, seeing only others flaws and overlooking ours? The thought of power, I think, Believing that others that think differently are wrong and we have a right to rule them. And yes, there should be certain levels of power, but with such conflicting views, how do we choose who? These questions I can’t answer. However, I do believe that we could’ve done better than elect a murderer.
Jamet was elected in 2041, on an unofficial vote from only 100 citizens on June third. What a mistake that was. He, a power hungry madman, took over, killing 20,000 immigrants and downplaying it on a mere mistake. And what did our people do? Nothing. We didn’t fight back. Because, again, power scares people, and fear can hurt you. Scared people think they can’t fight back, and the people who do… Well, they aren’t alive to tell us it’s ok to have our own views and tell our own story. I’m hiding like the others. It’s not only immigrants he’s attacking, he’s going after anyone different from him. And, yeah you guessed it. I don’t quite fit the mold. I’m not “Right” to his expectations. This is why I moved with my best friends, Leo and Rain, to Kaira.
