The Reading Fairy: A Library Encounter on a Summer
I always hated being in the library sitting on that rough chair, listening to the people murmuring around and looking at these papers which are waiting for death on the shelves.
As the summer was biting these days I was sitting mindlessly and I heard the sound of heels clicking against the tiled floor of the library. I turned to see who it was and this girl walked in. She was wearing earphones, her face was glowing cheerfully and her walk was so subtle that it felt like she was flying leaving a trail of sparkle behind her almost like a fairy...
She came and sat on the seat which was near the window to the opposite side of my desk. She took out her books and instantly merged her head into one of them.
The early evening sunlight was streaming and casting of warm glow on her face and the book. While she was reading the book with each turn of a page her intelligence was radiating and illuminating the space around her. The way she was concentrating by creasing her eyebrows and biting her lips in thoughts was more than an eye candy treat. But of all, what got my attention was her hair flicks which were making a beautiful dance with the cool breeze coming from the window. Her dark hair was so soft and inviting that I couldn't stop thinking of running my fingers through her hair.
Her aura was so calming and relaxing that it made me forget about those summer bites.
I sat there watching her smiling to myself. All of a sudden her expressions changed as her peace was disturbed by the buzzing sensation of her vibrating mobile phone. She took a sneaky peak at her mobile to find out who is calling. It was her friend who she forgot to call before coming to the library. She steadily placed her book aside, tucked her pen into her hair then leaned back into the chair and answered the call in a hushed voice. And to her surprise her friend from the other side immediately understood the situation and spoke in low tone too. For some time it felt like they were talking about a secret.
After a moment she hung up the phone with a smile which was clearly indicating how grateful she was to her friend just for understanding her situation. And with that smile on her face she again buried her nose back into the book.
Maybe she doesn't have to be out there chasing love and romance...
Maybe all she needed was a good book and a friend who understands her well...
And now I really love this place called Library, in which I was surrounded by the sweet sound of soft whispers and the delightful scent of aging papers...
Maybe because today I witnessed this Reading Fairy...
