Author's Note
This book contains Mature topics such as racial profiling, police brutality, racism, mental illness, abuse, detailed sexual content, and an age gap.
Please note this is a slow-burner if you choose to leave a review. Different hooks will appear at different times. In doing so, the overall arc twists in unexpected directions much like the topics listed above.
I do not shy away from the truth of those subjects because this is not a romance novel. This is an experience of a girl trying to find her way in the world that we all know has sharp edges and rarely leaves anyone unscathed.
Thank you to everyone who gives my book a try. 🙏🏽

Hi m2ition,
I just finished reading your story Hayes, and I absolutely loved it. Your writing grips the heart, it tackles such complex, mature themes with honesty and emotional weight, and I couldn’t help but think how powerful it would be as a visual narrative.
Two key moments stood out to me:
– The introduction of Moira Hayes, trapped in a life of emotional isolation under her mother’s career-driven expectations. Her frustration and the pressure she faces, especially in early chapters, would translate beautifully into visual storytelling: tight framing, muted tones, and expressive close‑ups that capture her internal struggle, .
– The evolving, taboo‑tinged dynamics between Moira and Ty. Their slow‑burn relationship, charged with tension and age‑gap conflict, is rendered so delicately that even when the novel veers into painful or illicit territory, the emotional narrative remains powerful. I can visualize scenes shifting from cold, sterile settings to warmer, more intimate layouts as trust is earned, and boundaries shift, .
I believe your story’s contrast between trauma and tenderness, between Moira’s quiet defiance and Ty’s complex influence, offers so much potential for compelling, cinematic paneling: expressive shadowing, fragmented page layout during emotional peaks, and visual pacing that echoes the slow‑burn revelations and inner turmoil.
I’m a commissioned artist, and I’d love to bring that emotional depth and drama to life in comic/manga format. No pressure though, I just think your work would look incredible visually.
