Chapter 1: Chloe And Jason

The young man named Jason Static was slowly walking into an alleyway holding his chest, the sun was shining how it would in a desert but feeling the cold wind hitting the body as if he was in Antarctica.

Putting his right hand on the wall of the area, feeling like he ran or flied three miles.

He was breathing quicker than often did. He was starting to limp.

He checked his watch seeing the time was 4:29 pm dated August 8th, 2013.

Feeling a sound, he would hear repeatedly in his head since childhood.

A never-ending landmine bomb going off over and over until he would be asleep quiet.

Jason could hear getting louder, ever step Jason took made if feel like it was a warzone, the walls felt like he was in a cage.

Jason kneeled down into a puddle.

It hurt him due to his electric abilities.

The thoughts in his head were pouring like a drink into a cup of coffee, only it was of fear.

"Is this really the end, why did God have me born into this life?" He thought.

Moving his head slowly to hear and see trash cans moving from the wind like a tornado.

Water droplets falling off the cans hitting the ground at the same time of the shattering noise.

He takes his hand off his chest to show a palm fully red with blood, his hand covered in the color was shaking.

Seeing the body after of his chest turning into a crimson color growing more and more.

Veins on his arms and neck were glowing yellow then they normally would for someone like him.

Jason slowly looked up to the sky saw the clouds as the winds moved his brown hair and touched his skin.

With the wind flowing through fast to touch his pale white costume with yellow glowing lines around it.

He looked back down. He felt the bomb now like a nuke, Jason heard it booming faster and faster.

Tears in his eyes, smacking himself in the head twice with a preparation to make the reaper blush.

Jason saw the reflection at of his face and tears hitting water turning red.

His lips shaking breaking the firm cause with and effect of a hundred men hitting him with a lifetime of rulers.

Cold spiderlike fingers racing up and down a spine from the wind laughing.

His knees sitting one rock like horns piercing his skin.

With the sound in his mind going louder every second he let out the biggest scream a human can possibly imagine with the voice elevated, high pitched, thick and unsteady.

Two Weeks Earlier

Jason opened his green eyes looking at the left side of his bedroom, as if it was painted 10 years ago.

He would always see the paint marks closely with detail, like scratch marks or circles as if those are nails underneath the paint.

He slowly gets up; he looks at his rectangular picture of himself when he was younger, with the frames as if they were made by a wood carver and on the close left side of him and a white window right above.

He looks around his room seeing blue baskets with old bags and used paper with writing of astronomy, the solar system, speed, debits, credits and all forms.

Jason lives in a thick house where the room across from him is his friend since childhood Chloe Zhang. She knocked on the door three times.

“Jason? Are you alright?” Chloe said curiously.

“Hold on.” Jason said quietly but enough for Chloe to hear him.

He slowly walks past his brown cabinet and grey basket filled with used clothes.

Jason opens the brown bark door with the silver knob while looking around his white bland room.

He sees the face of his close friend.

Her hazel eyes, brownish-blackish hair in a sleek choppy bob style, Asian race and personality like a morally supportive sibling.

Chloe puts her gentle green purse down for quick second as she wraps her hair in a ponytail, her arms in an acute angle with her black suit and fixing her name tag.

Holding dark blue shower robe putting it in the laundry bin for her day to start.

She was looking at Jason confused “Don’t you have that new job today, Jay?” Chloe said.

Jason is about to start his new job at Electric life, a company dedicated to saving lives, think of an analyst but who deals with science and genetics.

Chloe is about to run a bank, one that hasn’t had the best of history, with people showing less and less due the lack of allures and increase in technology.

It’s her first day as head and understands she can’t make everyone happy, she can only.

Hoping for both of their life’s to be better.

“I do, thanks Chloe.” Jason said.

“Well get to it .... please.” Chloe said.

Jason brushed his teeth, put on a grey suit combed his hair to lift it up showing his forehead and puts all his material in his black backpack.

Chloe washes her hands, looks at her belongings and looks at herself in the mirror.

“You matter, no matter what someone calls you, everything you say is justifiable.” Chloe continues.

“You will. It’s never the broken who make their soul shattered. You may be from out of the country, you may be different, but you will not wait or ask for permission.” Chloe said.

“You are like everyone, but be best person is always you.” Chloe puts her hands firm on the sink and finishes her statement.

“Your worth yourself.” Chloe ends her talk with herself and moves her hands to cover her watered eyes.

Chloe takes two deep breaths in and two out.

Jason holds the door open for his childhood friend.

“Such a gentlemen.” Chloe says.

“Trust me, I know you can take care of yourself.” Jason says hiding himself but still smiling.

They take the bus driving 3 miles from where they both live, they all different types of people to the bus in America.

A toddler’s toy ball rolls and the boy is confused to Jason’s left foot, but his hands are shaking unaware of what is in front of him.

Chloe sees Jason, she hides her frown picks up the ball and gives it to child. “Here you go!” with joy in her voice the boy slowly walks back to his mother sleep looking like she doesn’t take breaks.

“Poor girl.” Chloe says with sadness.

She turns to Jason still staring off into space.

She nudges her shoulder to Jason’s and gets his attention.

“Jason!” Chloe says but doesn’t shout.

“What, what happened?” Jason says.

Chloe looks at him in confusion, wondering what’s going on with him.

They both land at their stop before Chloe can ask.

Jason leaves the bus first, but Chloe gets out thanking the driver.

The two both have their jobs on opposite paths on the sidewalk, so Chloe tells Jason for confidence in him.

“Okay here we go, start of something new.” Chloe says hoping a feeling of change with the mystery going on with her friend.

“Yeah.” Jason says with a half-smile holding his black backpack.

Jason goes to his side first without hesitation.

Chloe was about to speak but Jay slowly turns away and rushes off as if he wanted to run away.

Chloe gives a look not in disappointment but wondering.

She walks to her job, holds the door, breaths in and breaths out opening the door hearing clients calling.

She looks at all her employees helping clients overhearing they are both helped and not to feel like they have been robbed of anything.

She walks by to see her room at the end of the building.

Chloe unzips her bag searches for her key, finds it, puts in the door, unlocks the door slowly pushing it in, touching the old color of red goes through the door with just two steps and shuts it gently behind her.

Chloe hears the buzz of her phone, checks that its unknown and answers.

We cut back to Jason.

Jay unzips his bag to double check he has everything and realizes he is ready to go.

He stops in shock to look at his company the size 100 of feet in the air a giant blue pencil as if it’s made in the 2020s.

Jason’s hand is shaking like a tremor before pulling the door out, walks into his new job and sees a business type of area with long stairs escalators and multi colors areas.

He looks to his east side as sees men wearing more bright suits then Jason having wonder if there is one to judge him.

To his west janitors wearing farmer types of clothes but darker than Jay.

A man comes down the steps of the floor with his long legs and posture of charming, confident, elegant and other suave bones.

He fixes his Cufflinks with their square and black diamond look.

Jason sees the man come up to him in a dark blue suit with a black caller shirt, he has almost like army boots, a silver watch, a man in above 30 but under 40. With glasses with a smile as if he has never been a sinner with endless confidence.

“Can I help you?” the man said.

“Oh! Hello! Umm...” Jason paused, was in shock took his bag off in embarrassment.

The man looked in embarrassment seeing Jay picking up his belongings as a child playing with crayons around the area in confusion as if he had a strong feeling the man kneeling down didn’t have a clue with what he was doing.

Jason showed his folder report, description and all proof Hes a coworker and not trespassing.

“Here.” Jason said.

The man read through all five pages of Jason; he looked in disbelief.

He stopped looking at the papers and gave them back to Jason.

“Jason Static right?” The man said.

Jason responded without any hesitation. “Yes, sir I’m just looking for my boss, waiting for what he needs me to, his name is Henry, Henry Finnet.”

The man looked at him as if he was joking.

“You didn’t see my face on any of the billboards, did you?′ the man named Henry said.

Jason had a look of shame but never broke eye contact.

“No, sir, I didn’t see any of them.” Jason said to Henry.

“Nothing to worry about.” Henry said to give Jason some hope and a laugh.

“Just do what I say, and you won’t have any trouble with anything or anyone.” henry said with almost a demeaning look.

“Ok.” Jason said as Henry moved his arm to the nearest escalator.

Jason gets in the elevator with Henry, he pushes the “Number 4 button” to go up to the 4th floor in the tower.

As the moving box with Jason, he looks at Henry checking his watch, his left shoe panting over again until they reach the floor, the two-keep their questions to themselves on opposite sides of the enclosed area. Jason touches the rail of the elevator feeling it lift him. The new employee sees through the glass and shows all the people walking in and out of the building, down and up the stairs, sitting on all the white and black sofas with all the experience in the world.

They get out of the elevator Henry walks Jason to a hall of desks in which Jason is right in the dead center of the floor, as if that wasn’t enough.

He raises his left arm at a low 90 degrees angle with a grin on his face at a show the area for Jason’s desk being not the smallest but not enough for me to work at.

“Ok Mr. Static, just give the info about how a fast a rocket flies, with the mass, density and every material it would need to be safe for a person to fly in works, I will give you until the end of the week.” Finnet says.

“Is there anything else you need Mr. Finnet?” Jason said in tiredness and denial.

Henry responded with a chuckle.

“No not at all Jason and don’t worry everyone in this floor is researching the same thing, now if you will excuse me, I’m get be at my desk and watch the falcon on nearest tree set ready to fly.” Henry said walking away with his hands in his pockets.

Jason watches his manager walk into the elevator zoom up to the highest floor and he moves chair to activate his computer while sticking his head out watching all the other employees move like robots in a never-ending cycle.
