The Mall of Nightmares Teaser

I have no idea how I got here. I was walking through my local mall. Suddenly, I seemed to go right through the floor. Before I knew it, I was free-falling. Then, I passed out. I woke up on the floor of another mall. This one was different. There was no music, no people. It was silent, and I felt alone. And I still do. That event happened yesterday, and I am still trapped here.

Right now, I am walking through a lifeless walkway in the mall. I still haven’t found an exit. I have found no living things, but I have found evidence of live people being here recently. I have found footprints that have not yet been covered with dust, stores that have been looted, and even clothing lying on the ground.

Suddenly, I hear an inhumane screech. I look ahead and see a dark figure facing me. I know it is not a human being. It has all 4 limbs touching the ground like an animal. Suddenly, it starts charging towards me.

I turn around and run as fast as I can. I quickly look behind me, and I see the thing inching closer and closer to me by the second. This is it. This is the end.

Suddenly, BAM! I look behind me and the thing is lying on the floor, limp. What was that? Then, I hear the first human voice in an entire day and a half. “Are you alright?”

Approaching from behind the beast is a man holding a rifle. “Thank you. I would be dead if it weren’t for you. I owe you one.” The man responds, “Why don’t you come with us. We can supply you with a weapon. We need all the help we can get. My name is Tod. What is yours?”

I respond with, “Thank you. My name is Drake. We should get moving.” And with that, we head off to Tod’s base.
