Chapter 1
Never fall in love with a hero.They would rather let you die than watch millions lose their lives.A villain however, would burn the world to ash just so you could live.That's what I told myself the minute the hero that had 'loved me' made a choice.A choice between me and his city.I know it sounds selfish but, if he really loved me as much as he said he did.He wouldn't of let me get shot by his nemesis.It was lucky that I wasn't shot somewhere vital or I might of died.After that happened I cut ties with the hero and moved to a different city.A fresh start.A new chapter.A clean slate.Whatever you want to to call it.My name is Scarlett Damsela.I have black hair and brown eyes and I'm from the city of Danera.Well I'm actually from Fortona but I don't like to remember living there.I'm 19 and I live at number 24,WestCliff Avenue.I have a job at a local café called 'How you bean' and my shift is from 8am till 5pm.I'm your average person.But my life started to change on Monday morning,which is the worst day of the week.
I woke up that morning and threw back my duvet cover.I pulled a white tea-shirt and some jeans out of my wardrobe and put them on.I had half an hour to get ready because I had to be at the café by 7:45.Yeah I know my shift starts at 8:00 but I still have to set up,wipe down the tables and other stuff you know. I grabbed an apple and a waffle and headed out to grab my bike.I opened the gate at the back of my garden,closed it then hopped on my bike and cylced to the 'How You Bean'.After wiping down all the tables I opened the door to the cafè and flipped the closed sign round to open.The usual customers came in for their morning coffee.Esme Campbell, who had her strawberry blonde hair tied up in a ponytail,cycled up to the cafè in her teal nurses outfit at around 8:15 like she usually did."Morning Miss Campbell!What can I get for you today?" I asked her with a smile on my face."Just my usual coffee please Scarlett I don't have long to chat,busy day today we have all sorts of animals coming!" She explained with a hurried tone.I wished her good luck as she paid for her drink and cycled off the local vet's.The day was as normal as it ever was until a new customer wandered inside.He had dark brown hair and oak brown eyes.He looked around my age.He walked up to the counter with a polite smile on his face."Good morning miss!I would like a tea with two sugars and a dash of milk please." He asked politely.I made his order and gave it to him."Here you go sir!" I smiled at him and waved as he left the cafè after paying."He was nice" I muttered to myself.The day went on and it reached lunchtime when it started changing.
Jason Miller.He's such a jerk and he lives on my street as well!He strode inside liked he owned the place.I looked up from the counter and asked what he wanted.He started chucking napkins everywhere and wrecking the place.The boy from earlier came back in and started yelling at Jason to stop.Jason walked up to him as I screamed at the boy to get out of there.Suddenly I heard the sound of a fist hitting somebody's nose.Jason reeled back with a bloody nose."You're gonna pay for that." Jason muttered.He shoved the boy against the wall and started punching him.Me and some of the customers shoved Jason out of the café.I told all the customers they could have a refund if they wanted and apologized for what happened.They all said it was no problem and all they wanted was Jason banned from the small café.I closed the up for the day and helped the boy up onto his feet.I cleaned up his bloodied face and asked him if he was okay.
