Chapter 1- phoenix pov
As Phoenix watched the raindrops pitter-patter against the window, she couldn't help but feel a sense of melancholy. She didn't particularly enjoy the rain, but she had to admit that the earthy scent it brought with it was rather pleasant. In just two days, the full moon would rise in the sky, and everyone would gather for her engagement ceremony. It was all happening so fast, and Phoenix couldn't believe that she had already found her mate.
Her thoughts were interrupted by Samuel's voice, her cousin and the beta of their pack. "Nix, how did they even find your mate?" he asked curiously.
Phoenix's mind immediately jumped to Alpha Soul Lancaster ,the future head of the pack that had arranged her engagement. She couldn't deny the attraction she felt between them, but she also couldn't forget the dramatic way in which they'd first met.
With an awkward laugh, Phoenix took a breath and began to tell Samuel her story.
It had been a dark and stormy night when Phoenix first met Soul. She had been conducting her evening rounds as a healer, tending to the wounded and sick of their pack at the southern light academy. Suddenly, she heard a loud commotion coming from the training grounds. Curious, she hurried over to the source of the noise and found herself face-to-face with a group of rogue wolves who had infiltrated their pack.
With no weapon at hand, Phoenix braced herself for what looked like a sure defeat. Other wolf and betas are saying that they are bullying them here and they transpras here without permission But before the rogues could even lay a finger on her, Soul appeared out of nowhere and took them down with quick and deadly precision.
As Phoenix gazed up at him, something stirred within her, an inexplicable connection that she had never felt before. She immediately knew it's her mate the grey eyes were captivating her , she starts running towards the main gate of the academy, behind she here that professor liam asking "what happened ? Phoenix."
after 3 mints she stopped running to catch breath then she felt some presence behind ,in her defence and sudden reflex she throws a punch and soul catch with his grip ,"wow, you have a great reflex ! Then she felt weak on the knees and sat down. " I was embarrassed !" Said phoenix
And that said being with the upcoming. engagement ceremony, she couldn't help but feel a little apprehensive about what the future held.
With a smile, Phoenix finished her story and turned to Samuel. "It's dramatic right ? "it is ! But it's also kinda romantic "Howwww?"
