Blushing Love
The season of love is blooming. The scent of love can be found in every corner of the road in the town of love, Amoreville. The town known as Hall of Love is known for its Red Cedar trees. As winter left the town, there came a new look to the town as the Red Cedar started blossoming pink leaves. The scent of love spreads across the entire town and especially its square grounds. Whirling sounds of the hummingbirds fill the garden park of Amoreville. So do the cheers of many couples.
And during such a beautiful day, Avery Heartwell, a middle school teacher, came to this town with the purpose of finding her one true love. As luck would have it, her best friend offered to set up a blind date for her. Seeing as how she had terrible luck with her previous endeavours. Avery accepted in a heartbeat. Reason being her best friend, Sarah won’t choose a bad guy for her. The date was set at a famous cafe in the town named Whimsical Fare, with a guy named Alexander Cassuis.
“Well, at least the name sounds fancy.” , thought Avery to herself.
She chose the best outfit she had for the date which was a simple light brown dress, a leather jacket, a pair of beige high heels, small dangle earrings and a burgundy clutch purse.
The day of the date:
Avery was nervous on the day of the date. She woke up early in the morning and went for a short walk around her hotel. As the pink leaves fell down on the park walkway, the sunlight was peaking through the semi-cloudy sky, chirping, buzzing sounds of many birds could be heard and a slight blow of the wind made the scenery look like an artwork of Claude Monet.
Avery could smell the sweet scent of rosemary. She felt like she could spend her entire day in the stillness of nature. As if the entire garden park is calling out to her, the pink leaves of Red Cedar fell down on the walkway creating a path for her. The chirping of the birds felt like the birds were talking to her. The twenty or so large American Elm trees in the middle of the park felt like Avery went into an elven kingdom. But the most mystical place in the park is the small grove of Blue Jacarandas. The violet coloured flowers gave off the sweet scent reminding Avery of honey.
After spending about two hours roaming around the park, admiring the beauty that is the Phenomena Domicile, she left the park.
Suddenly, a distinct fragrance caught the attention of Avery as she was walking to her hotel. The fragrance was very unique. It has a mixture of tangerine, lime and sandalwood. The fragrance came from a man that walked past her. At first, she couldn’t get a glimpse of the man’s face but she saw his back. It was a tall man with blond hair who was wearing a navy blue suit. She felt her heart beat get faster as soon as she got to see his face. Her face got red and hands got cold.
“Is this love at first sight?” said Avery to herself.
The man had pale skin, a symmetrical face and a stubble.
“Is he a movie star?” thought Avery to herself.
After getting a brief look at the man, she controlled herself and left.
“You have a date, today. Keep yourself focused”
After reaching her room, she ordered herself some coffee. And sat down on the chair, waiting for the coffee. She messaged Sarah.
“GIRL!!!!! You were right about this town. It’s perfect. The park was so mystical and vibrant. Also you wouldn’t believe me when I say, I saw this handsome hunk while leaving the park. He has to be a movie star with a face like that. 😤”
“IKR!!!! Amoreville is THE BEST!”
“Also control yourself, girl. You got a date with another man. Don’t go falling in love with random strangers you meet in the streets.”
“Come on, girl. You would’ve said the same if you saw him. He’s so freaking handsome.”
“A girl can only dream. Sigh~”
“Indeed”
“Well, I gtg now. My coffee is here. Byeee~”
“Bye~ Enjoy your date ;)”
Avery’s coffee arrived. She ordered a normal black coffee. After drinking the coffee, she started to get ready. She got her suitcase on top of a chair and took out her clothes. The Date:
It was a brunch date. They both don’t know anything about each other except their names as it is a blind date. It was set to take place inside a famous cafe in the wonderful town of Amoreville.
She wore a leather jacket on top of a light brown dress with beige high heels. She got some dangling earrings. She styled her hair in loose waves. She also got a white belt to create a more defined silhouette.
She took a cab to reach the cafe.
As she went inside the cafe, she saw that almost all the seats were empty. A single drop of sweat fell from her forehead as she saw the placid but unsettling tone of the cafe.
“Is it really a famous cafe? Why is it so empty? Did I perhaps enter the wrong building? Maybe it’s empty during this time?” , all these came into Avery’s mind in an instant.
A waiter took notice of her at the door and went to her. And asked if her name was Avery to which she replied affirmatively although with a bit of hesitancy. But it didn’t last long as the waiter quickly revealed that Alexander reserved the entire cafe for 4 hours today. And to only let in a single lady named Avery Heartwell.
“Wow!! I can’t believe he actually did something like that. He must be a big shot.” thought Avery.
The waiter quickly took her to a table and asked if she would like anything. But she replied,
“No, thanks I am good.”
After waiting for a little while, the door swang open. Filling the room with a sweet but oddly familiar scent. Just as Avery saw the person enter the cafe, her face turned red, her heartbeat became faster, her eyes almost has a shine to them. She pinched herself to check if it was a dream. But no, it wasn't. It was reality.
