This is just the begining
She sat in the bathroom listening to all the gossiping girls outside the stalls. “Oh my god did you guys hear about that girl, Robin, and how she started bleeding all over the place!” One of the girls said, laughing out loud, the other girls laughing with her. Her eyes welled up with tears and she fought back a sniffle. The warning bell rang and they left the bathroom.
She buried her face in her hands silently sobbing. A soft knock disturbed the quiet room. “Robin?” a soft voice asked, “are you in there?”
“Yes,” she murmured in her palms.
“I thought so. Come out here and I will take you to the counselors office.”
She stood up and opened the stall door. “Victoria, they laughed at me,” she sobbed.
“Oh come here,” she pulled Robin into a hug and wrapped a sweater around her waist.
They walked down the now clearing halls to the office.
“Robin? Robin, you there?” said a voice pulling her from a memory, “You good?”
“Yeah, fine, why do you ask?” Robin blinked looking up at the man standing in front of her.
“You were just spacing out,” he said, sitting down beside her. They sat in the large green field looking out at the ocean. They watched as the horses grazed lazy, in the fading sunlight, accepting its warmth. “So Prom is coming up, you excited?”
“Not really. Why do you want to go with me?” she said laying back looking up at the big blue sky.
“Well..Yes, I would like to go with you.” he said, blushing a little.
“Okay, I’ll go.” she said jumping up and walking back to the path leading to the house, “what’s the theme?”
“Horror movie, but before anyone gets slaughtered.” he said following close behind.
The next morning she ran down stairs, grabbed a piece of toast, threw on her bag and ran out the door to her 2017 convertible yellow ford mustang with black stripes on the hood. Realizing she forgot her keys, she sprinted back inside and rushed to find her keys. She pulled out a set of keys with a key chain that has a picture of a very small kitten and engraved on the back it says “Ducky”. A small crystal, some keys and a Gryffindor pin adorned her lanyard as well. She sprinted back out slamming the door behind her. She ran and threw her bag in the black leather seat beside her. She pushed the key into the ignition and twisted, hearing the soothing roar of the engine.
