The Waiting Room

“What is this place Leon? How did we get in here ?I don’t even remember coming in this room.”

Leah was distressed, it could be seen by the wrinkles in her forehead and the quick fluttering of her brown eyes.

“ I don’t know, baby, but everything will be okay. We’ll just get out of here.”

Leon gripped the door handle and tried to open the door, but it would not open. He yelled in his strong baritone voice, “ Hey somebody come open this door.”Leon was 6′3”tall dark and good-looking. He was usually able to maintain control of any situation and he almost always had 100% confidence in himself. In this room, in this place, he wasn’t feeling in control, nor confident.

Leah was 5′8”, with long legs and cinnamon colored skin. She usually felt secure with Leon, but not at this time, not in this place.

“ Break that door down Leon, I want to get out of here.”

“No baby, just relax. I’m sure someone will come soon.”

“Well, what are we going to do in this, this waiting room?” Leah looked very perplexed.

“Think about when we first met. Think about that instant attraction thing we had going on. Think about how it was a done deal that you were going to be with me and I was going to be with you.”

Leah smiled as she leaned back on the only seating in the room, a white sectional sofa. She began to drift off into deep thought, while Leon maintained his stance at the door, the locked door.
