Chapter 1

Dragnar, a great continent enriched with gold, precious metals and the four major cities. Windfall, Sunstone, Lakeborn and Crystalrock. Windfall being the capital of Dragnar, and Sunstone being the continent’s largest trading city. The people of Dragnar had their own beliefs, however, of how the Earth itself was created. According to their religious beliefs, the Earth was created by Gods, Goddesses and a race of mythical and powerful beings called the Dark Dragons. But who are these Gods and Goddesses the people of Dragnar believed created the Earth? And what were the Dark Dragons?

Long ago, the Dark Dragons were the supreme beings of our planet we later came to call Earth. But the time of the Dark Dragons would soon come to an end. When the Gods decided it was time for men to arise, they tried to wipe out the Dark Dragons, however they refused to die out. And so the Gods and the Dark Dragons waged war against one another for countless years. This would be known as the Ancient War. The Dark Dragons were many and claimed they had a secret weapon for winning the Ancient War, the Galactic Dragon whom they called Azarix. The Galactic Dragon would swallow the new world whole and darkness shrouded over the Gods.

However the Gods also had made a secret weapon, the Black and White Dragon named Monochrome. Victory seemed near for the Dark Dragons. With the world devoured inside of the belly of the Galactic Dragon. But the Gods did not give up. With their weapon known as the Black and White Dragon, this being focused its power and split the Galactic Dragon in half, dispersing it throughout the galaxy. The Dark Dragons plans had failed. And it is said that the new world would be created and made from the eye of the Galactic Dragon. The Dark Dragons were wiped out thus the Ancient War was over.

When its job was done, the Black and White Dragon ascended back into the heavens. Now that the Ancient War was over, the king God Nakumaul, inhabited this planet with mortal men and women. However, he needed a home for them. Nakumaul along with his brothers and sisters, worked together to create this new world for the mortal race. The sea was created and made from the tears from the eye of the Galactic Dragon. Dragnar, the hero God, created the land and named it after himself. He gave to them trees, mountains, rivers and other materials for them to build homes. Thus he was named the hero God.

Sirloin gave them fire so they could cook their own food and provided meats and other produce for them to share and grow. He also gave them coal to feed the fires. Thus Sirloin became the God of fire, coal and the feast. Metrunam gave to them weapons to defend themselves. It is believed that Metrunam gave them weapons so the mortals would wage wars against one another for her own selfish entertainment. However this was not true. It was the mortals for whom declared wars on each other. She would also resurrect the fallen if she had deemed them worthy. Metrunam was to be worshipped as the Goddess of War, Bloodshed and Resurrection.

Nakumaul cared for the mortal race. He would look down upon them from his great sky kingdom of Outhreul. It is believed that those who die in the heat of battle with great honor, shall join Nakumaul in his great sky kingdom of Outhreul to feast. This was what the people of Dragnar believed and it is still. The people of Lakeborn had a different approach to this belief. They believed that it is not in the heat of battle from which the fallen ascend, but in a temple. The people of Lakeborn built ‘The Temple of the Dead’ to honor their fallen. They’ve also built statues of ‘Death’ himself all over the temple. It is still unknown why they did this. But according to legend, the statues built was a sign. A sign to keep Death himself from taking the dead back with him to some unholy place so that Nakumaul can take them to Outhreul instead. The people of Crystalrock do this as well, but it is a shrine and not a temple. It is said that that’s where the people of Crystalrock buried their most beloved and cunning general of Windfall’s second Great War, General Gallahon Darkoss the first.

Anorma, the Goddess of love, compassion and marriage. It is she who spreads love throughout Dragnar. It is so that she is worshipped by couples who found each other through her Grace. It is necessary for her to be worshipped during Dragnar’s wedding ceremonies with white wine. Her artifact which is the ‘Engagement Ring of Forever Love’ is said to be engraved in a flawless diamond and a gold band and also the oldest, rarest ring in all of history. It is also believed that Anorma is married to Sirloin, the God of Fire whom their love created the ‘Hero God’ Dragnar. However, Nakumaul was furious, for he wanted Anorma’s hand in marriage. Therefore, Nakumaul had cursed Anorma and Sirloin’s son Dragnar, by transforming him into the most shameful of creatures, the Draconian. Thus Dragnar was known as the Draconian God.

Nakumaul, the God of time, space and kings, is still loved and worshipped by all. The king God’s artifacts, ‘The Hourglass of Time’ and ‘The Kings Crown’, are the rarest of items. If one holds The Hourglass of Time, has the ability to control and manipulate time and even go through time itself. And The Kings Crown defines its wearer as his or her rightful place to rule. It is said that these two rare artifacts have to be secured in the most secretive places because of their great and mysterious power. ‘The Scroll of the Otherworld’ is among these rare artifacts as well. Legends tell of the scroll possessing otherworldly and demonic powers. The Sword of Immortal Power allows it’s wielder to become invincible as long as he or she holds the sword.

The last two Gods to mention are of the dark and evil. Orecalcose, the God of Darkness and Aerobis, the blood God. Orecalcose is still worshipped by the ones with evil in their hearts. Orecalcose, also known as the God of decay and destruction, is among the most evil of the Gods due to his cold, cold nature. Orecalcose’s artifact, ‘The Demonic Amulet’, is said to house the demonic powers of Orecalcose himself and can also summon demons from different plains and realms. He is also responsible for creating ‘The Dark Lord’s Armor’, a sign on the battlefield. To whoever wears the armor in battle is to pay tribute to Orecalcose. However, it is also said that Orecalcose as evil as he may be, does have a soft spot for love. History has it that Orecalcose fell in love with a mortal woman. But Nakumaul did not deem this to be so. As punishment, Nakumaul banished Orecalcose and stripped him of his power. Although Orecalcose was one of the fallen God’s, he is still worshipped by all.

Lastly is Aerobis, the Blood God. Also known as the God of the Night and the God of Vampires. His artifact, ‘The Goblet of Blood Sacrifice’, is said to have the ability to refill itself with blood when empty. And those who drink the blood from the goblet shall join Aerobis in immortality. Being the very first Vampire to roam the Earth, Aerobis is an immune to the sun. He is worshipped by all Vampire’s and Necromancer’s alike. Dragnar is the home of all of these legends, myths and more.

The Dark Dragons were a race of mythical and powerful Dragons, the kings of all Dragon’s that would later come to be. There were many of these beasts in the days of old when nothing but fire and brimstone covered the lands. The Dark Dragon’s worshiped their own God, the Galactic Dragon Azarix. They would make offerings to appease Azarix, offerings of the stars and planets that the Galactic Dragon devoured whole. By doing this, the Dark Dragons were spared from Azarix’s wrath. Azarix is also known as the mother dragon. They would praise the mother dragon for protection against the Gods. Legends say that Azarix has no gender and had given birth to the Dark Dragons.

When the king God Nakumaul told them it was their time to go and make room for the race of men, the Dark Dragon’s would not cooperate. They refuse to go extinct. And so, the Dark Dragon Malukroth declared war on the Gods. And the prize was a new home. Thus the Ancient War had begun. The Dark Dragon Malukroth would lead the assault upon the Gods. The Dark Dragon Elderon was made general of Malukroth’s army. The battlefield in which the war would take place, ‘The Realm of Darkness’ which was also known as ‘The Dead Lands’.

The war between the Gods and Dragon’s lasted for about one thousand years. In the end of this thousand year war, the Gods have won and defeated the Dark Dragon’s. Without their knowledge, Malukroth and Elderon were the only two survivors of the Dark Dragon’s. They’ve waited for a millennia, disguised as men for the perfect moment to strike back. It wasn’t until ‘The Masters Tournament’ where they would seek out their revenge upon the mortals. But it was also where they would meet their demise. For the king God Nakumaul had fore-seen these events and appointed a young Elvin warrior named Trenton Elvinwood to take up the mantle as his new champion. Nakumaul had bestowed upon him the power of the Black and White Dragon so as to come face-to-face with The Dark Dragons. Elderon and Malukroth had met their demise at the hands of this Elvish warrior thus saving the lands from another ‘Ancient War’ taking place.

However, The Dark Dragons were not the only ancient evil that threatened the land of Dragnar. Legends speak of the first dark elf wizard named Uultama who controlled an ancient creature, the first of its kind. This creature was said to be a demon, demons come to be known as ‘Terroheads’. A brief description of a Terrohead is to have a slim almost skeletal-like body to them. Long and sharpened finger-like claws and lanky arms. A long demon-like tail running from their spines. Large bat-like wings spanning seven meters and a head like that of a prehistoric bird. With teeth as sharp as swords and claws as sharp as spears, these creatures were dangerous as they were formidable. It is said that Uultama was the very first human of Dragnar’s history, but where did he come from? According to the ancient slabs, they speak of a race, a link between humans and dragons. An ancient tribe known as the Drakin.

The Drakin appear human-like with dragonish features to them. They stood eight to ten feet tall. And according to lore, they’ve learned to master abilities which humans only dream of possessing themselves. It is said that Uultama became jealous of the Drakin’s abilities and sent his monster servant to destroy them. The Drakin were a fierce warrior tribe and fought to the very end. But they were no match for the dark elf wizard or his monster. The Drakin Chieftain saw no other option but one. He sacrificed himself, using all of his power, he latched onto the wizard and turned himself into stone as well as Uultama. The imprisoned chieftain and wizard would be buried deep underground forgotten by time. As for his monster, the demon had no choice but to slumber for all eternity until it would be awoken once again.

Dragnar is chalk full of mysteries, legends and lore like these. But it would soon see the end of its days. It is said that the end result of the first Great War, was the sinking of this once great continent. The people believed that the Gods were angered by their fighting and sank Dragnar, leaving the four major lands afloat making them into islands. And that is the brief history of the Dragnar Lore.
