The case of The Pearl Grip Knife

As I woke up on that Hot summer Morning. I Looked at my bedside clock. I Was Late to the Office. I Hope the New Cleaning Lady Has Finished Cleaning My Office. I should tell you, my name. My name is Jackson Ryder. I am a private investigator out of Jim and Jackson’s detective agency, And I work With Jim Colt. As I Got In my car. I was Thinking How we had Not had a case in a long time. As I got to the Office, I Saw Jim’s Car parked. I walked over and put my hand On the Hood It was Cold It was Odd of Jim to be the First One into the office as I walked in. The office smelled like roses. It was Odd To me. To my Knowledge The owner of the building Hated the smell of roses. So, I pulled Out my Smith & Wesson model 12 And I walked down The Long Hot Hallway Of my Office. Then I saw Door to Jim’s office ajar, So I pushed the door Open with my hand and my gun Pointed into the room. Then I Found Jim He Had Been Stabbed in the gut with a Knife. I walked in when I saw some files on his desk and floor. I holstered my gun then I walked over to Jim’s desk, And I called the Police they said it would be 15 mins. I hung up the Phone Than I Picked it up again and I called Nick powers The Owner of the building. I told him that Jim Was Dead in his Office. He sounded every ticked Off on the Phone and he hung up on me. So, I pulled out my notepad and started to take notes of everything Jim was stabbed in the gut and Chest with a Knife with a Pearl Grip Knife. I knew this because the Knife was still in his body. As I Looked at Jim’s files on his desk, I noticed that One of His files and His Notepad was missing. I Looked around and saw there was No sign of a Fight in the room. Everything looked to be in place from what I remember. So, Jim Knew His attacker makes sense he would work later than me. As I stepped Out of the room the First of the Police officers arrived to lockdown the crime scene and take my statement. I walked to my office door, and I walked in and I saw Zoey walker Our New Cleaning lady tied up and Stabbed in her arm and leg. I ran Out of my office and Yelled at the officers “I got a Live One Here Get some help!”. About 15 mins later I was asked to go the the police station and to meet the chief of detective John mcclode. When I walked into his He said, “You are one hell of a mess here”. I asked Him Put me On the force. McClode said “he would need approval from one of his captains″. I left and walked two doors down and into Captain Harry Jones’s office. He was the head of the homicide division. Jones owed me a favor saving his marriage. I told him that I wanted to work on this case. Jones said, “I will let you take this case, But I was to Know of everything”. I said “you got a deal” I left and went back to Mcclode’s office, and I told him that I was approved to work the case. Mcclode said “that’s good to hear and you might need this”. He handed me a box and he said to open it. So, I did and inside was a detective’s badge. I put it on my belt and I gave him my Notepad and I read it to Him which took 5 mins. He said I always knew you had a bit of a detective in you. He stood up and asked me to follow him and he took me to a temp office at the station I can use and as we were talking the phone started to ring. So, I walked over and picked it up. The coroner called “that he had finished His autopsy on Jim Colt ″. I said the corner had finished the autopsy and me and McClode left the office. He shook my hand and said Get him. I went down to see the coroner. He told me That Jim was stabbed 5 times In the Gut and He Handed me a bag with the Knife in it. He said This is the third Body with Knife still in the body that had pearl grips. The coroner said “go and talk with Brandon Black. He was the detective in charge of the other 2 cases that matched this type of attack”. I said “thank you” and I went upstairs to find detective black. I found black in the break room. We talked for 15 mins And he told me that Maria Robbins and her Husband Marty Robbins were Both were had their throats slit and the Knives were stabbed in their backs as a calling card. He showed me there they Looked like a cute couple but When I told him that Jim was stabbed in the Gut and Did Not have His throat slit he said “he had met Jim and He was hired by Kate waters to investigate Her daughter’s death”. I asked him if he was sure about it and he said yes. But I thought it was odd Jack never told me about the case. So I went back to the crime scene. When I entered the building I heardNick yelling and boy he had a dirty Mouth. I walked up and I saw Nick and the officers at Jack’s office door. when he saw me he yelled at me saying “Jackson where the hell have you been?” I said, “I was at the station” and I moved my jacket to the side when He saw the Badge in my belt he said, “Hey I thought you’re A Private detective”. I told him that I called in a few favors and to move to the side. He was mad but he was Not the Boss of me anymore. I showed the other officers my badge and they let me through and Nick yelled at me “You got until the end of this month to leave His Building.” As I started to go though Jim’s files of all of his cases, I could Not find the file on the double murder case. So Who Ever killed Jim Wanted that file as I was searching Jack’s office. I found Jack’s black book and I was surprised that inside was a list of women’s names and I noticed it had Zoey Walker and Maria waters names inside the book. I left and when I was leaving I told them that I was heading to the hospital to check on Zoe Walker. When I got to the hospital I was Zoey Walker not in critical condition and I was able to question her about what happened to them at the office. She said “ it started a few weeks ago. I started to have an affair with Jim. She was cheating on her Husband for Jim Because her Husband was Never around and always at auctions, and he said that he was seeing another woman, but he knew her name, but he had pictures of them together.” I said, “Ok Zoey and tell me what happened last night?” Zoey said “It was around 12 am. They had just finished a nightly Rendezvous and I went into your office to clean. That’s when I was attacked from behind. I never saw who attacked me.” then she asked me “how Jack was? Was Jack Ok?”. When I told her that Jim was died she started to cry. I finished questioning her. I noticed that Zoe Looked Like Maria from the Picture that detective black had. So, I Need to Find out what he was buying at the Auctions. I when to an auction house. I Found Out that Mark Walker was Big One of the biggest Knives Buyers. So, I asked If they had any Knives that had Pearl Grips on them and the owner of the auction house said “That Mr. Walker always bids on knives with Pearl Grips”. I went to the station and talked with Captain Jones, and I brought him up to speed where I was in the case and asked to bring in Mark Walker for a questioning and he said do it. When I got to my office The phone was ringing and I answered the phone, and I was ordered to get to the hospital Zoey Had Flatlined. I ran out of my office, and I jumped into my car and drove to the hospital. When I got there a doctor, and a nurse were outside talking to a police officer, and I asked what happened? The officer said, “he left to use the bathroom and that’s when she flatlined, but the doctor ordered everyone to stay out until you got here.” The doctor said, “Let me show you why I ordered everyone Out.” We walked up to Zoey’s body he Lifted up her patient gown. Then I saw that she was stabbed in her side with a Knife with a Pearl Grip. As I was writing it down in my notepad I started to smell roses. I asked the doctor if they had any cleaning supplies and he said “No” then I asked who came to see her and the doctor said “No one has been in her room but a Nurse and the cleaning man when in there”. I left the hospital and I called the police dispatch to ask if Mark Walker has any properties in town or out of town. Dispatch said that he owns a cabin and a house with his wife right now there are units there on stakeout at the house. So I went to Mark’s cabin. When Me and a handful of officers we Found the Cabin empty, we noticed that There was a breaking But We did Not Know what was stolen or was there to begin with but the phone wire was Cut, and we had no radio reception. When we got back to police headquarters and let them Know about the break in at the cabin. I sat in my office then I said “ok not at the cabin maybe the home.” I left to go to The House of Zoe and Mark Walker. I pointed out to the officers on stakeout that the front Door was ajar. They said we didn’t notice that five minutes. Me and the officers on stakeout went to the house and We Kicked the door Open we started to clear the house room by room until we got to the Master bedroom. We found Mark Walker Dead. He had cut his wrist and We found a Box of Knives with Pearl Grips next to him. We Found Jim’s file on The Double Murder. and we found a picture of Maira waters and Mark walker on the back of it was them in high school. I walked over to the phone to call the coroner. I started to smell Roses when I saw next to the Kitchen counter was a Blood pool. I told the coroner to come to the House of Zoe and mark walker I got one More For him as I hung up the phone I walked Outside and saw some people watching that we were doing. I walked over and showed them the picture and they said they were old classmates that Mark. he and Maria dated in high school but when they got to college they broke it off and I walked inside and to the Master bedroom. I was standing there thinking When the coroner arrived he said right now all i can say is that mark has been for about 5 weeks By not having rigor mortis as the coroner put the body of mark into a body bag I noticed that there was No blood pool under Mark’s body. I said “that means he was Dead Before Jim Was Murdered” the coroner agreed with me on that But There were No more, Clues But everything Pointed to Mark as the Murder. I went back to the hospital and Showed a Picture of Mark to some of the nurses working during the time of the Murder and they said, “He might have been the man They saw Going into her room to Clean but they were Not sure about it”. When I got Back to the station I talked with, mcclode and he said to close the case for now but if we find anything new, we will reopen it and He will make me a full-on Police detective. Later on, I was checking though Mark Walker’s personal effects and I found a perfume bottle that read the smell of the roses when you’re on a date or when you’re in front of that special someone. I wrote down the brand name and I closed the case, but I feel like There is more to this case than I know right now.
