Prologue
When do heroes just stop caring? Do they ever stop caring? There is no answer because it could be at any time. The most powerful heroes were the Rainbow gang.
There was Merlot who could lift anything and anyone, she was the red member of the Rainbow gang. There was also Flannery who can control fire and basically use it anytime, anywhere. Next was Ardit, he was basically the electric one who cannot be electrocuted. He was also super-fast. Then it was Jaida who was like Mother Earth. She could grow anything and use it as useful weapons. Then it was Claramay, who can manipulate water in any way. Next, it was Iolanthe she had most of the physic powers, just she cannot read minds or see the future. Then, it was Zaria, she can go invisible, and she basically can use telepathist same as Iolanthe, but she could also blind people by glitter. Alban was the white one who works best with Claramay because he can freeze stuff. Then finally, it was Noir, who can make people’s nightmares come true. They were the heroes when things got dark.
For over 1000 years, they managed to save the world countless times. They don’t stay for long, and they age slower than people do. 10 years= 1 month for them 120 years= 1 year. It’s the math’s. It is unknown how they got their superpowers, but everyone was glad they were there.
One day, there was a call from one of the mayors in America. It was at 10:13am while he was giving a speech to his city. “We need to stop all this littering. All of us is Guity- what Amon?” Amon was holding a cell phone to the mayor’s ear “Hello?” said the mayor
“Put me on speaker,” said a deep raspy voice “And make sure the entire town listens as well.” The mayor put it on speakerphone and plugged it onto a large speaker. The audience was watching with great curiosity. This must be good news, they thought. Then the voice said “Hello, you all are wondering why I called well, one of you will be playing a little game with me. I’ve got all the names in town; I know what you all are like. I pick one out and that person will automatically come and play with me. Let me see oh maybe a Mr. Danny Grate.”
Then there was a puff of smoke. One of the audience members was gone. “Where’s my husband?” A woman screaked right at the back. A lot of people started looking for him. He was never found. Then the phone disconnected. The mayor then whispered something to Amon, and he ran as fast as he could to the mayor’s house. When he got there, he put his fingerprints on a scanner that let him in, he then ran past the gardens, tip-toed past the snoozing rottweilers and then went inside the large manor. He then went down two flights of stairs and then got a key out of his pocket as he walked over to a dark, narrow door. He then slowly unlocked it and went inside. He went down those stairs, until he saw a scanner. He then put his palm on it.
“Amon Dalley, welcome.” the speakers said. He then saw the door automatically open, and he went inside. There was only a button and a keyboard with a large screen. Time to call them, he thought as he went over to the button. Then he felt a shiver down his spine. Something was there. He could just feel it. “Hello?” he called but then tutted at himself. He thought this was ridiculous. But then he heard the door lock, he felt his pocket for keys, there was none. Somebody must have stolen it, he thought. Then he heard a familiar voice “Hello, Amon. You want to call them well, it’s too late.” He then felt a piercing though his stomach and his whole world went dark.
Years passed, 10 years later, and there were no further calls for the Rainbow gang. “Flannery, why are you waiting by that screen, there has been nothing for ten years.” Jadia said, coming into the room where Flannery was sitting down, restless. She then sat down next to him. “Sorry, it’s just that, it hasn’t been that long between calls. It bores me.” he then sighed. Jadia then patted him on the shoulder.
“I know, but maybe they don’t need us anymore. We could settle down you know. It’s probably for the best.” she said. Flannery then nodded in agreement.
“Year, I guess. Did everyone else leave?” he asked.
Jadia then sighed and said “They all left. Merlot left last week; Ardit left a couple of years ago. Claramay left last month, Iolanthe left last year, Zaria left nearly eight years ago, Alban left a fortnight ago and Noir left two years ago. We’re the only ones left.” They both then stared at each other and nodded.
“Oh right, maybe it is time to stop waiting for something to happen.” Flannery sighed as they both stood up and left the room.
