A Cursed Lad
Junko was a dangerous queen of despair. Everyone who knew her knew this. Junko loved despair nothing more than anything else. The woman caused despair to herself and anyone she came in contact with. She'd even killed her twin sister Mukuro. So it seemed that she would eventually find a kingdom to drive into the despair she loved so much. In order to drive this kingdom into the depths of despair, she killed their king and queen, and took over the kingdom herself. Junko was sure that with her rule, the kingdom would slog under the weight of despair and crumble. However, there was one thing the queen didn't take into account. The king of Hope and Queen of knoledge left behind a son, and that's why three of the court mages were in a small, hidden room of the castle with the court seer and the infant. Usually, a royal cristening was a huge event with the entire kingdom, but Kazuichi knew they couldn't do that. That was why they were holed up in this room. Kazuichi could see Hiro looked puzzled and he stepped back to let the seer work. "Do you see anything?" He asked, but was suprised when Hiro sudeenly got up. "Yes, he responded, but the man looked shaken. Kazuichi saw Sonia step forward, but could tell she was unsure, what did you see?" Kazuichi wasn't sure he wanted to know at the grave look on Hiro's face, but let him speak. "Years of pain and sorrow, turmoil, he will be hated and feared, and finally, a spire through the heart." Kazuichi felt speechless at this. "Is there a way to change it?" Sonia asked and Hiro looked down. "Not as far as I know, but we have to try." Kazuichi nodded his head, though he did feel worried. "There has got to be something we can do!" "I am not two worried about that, after all I am the supreme overlord of ice!" Gundam remarked, though Kazuichi had known him enough to know he was faltering. "Well this is a cristening," Kazuichi suggested. So that means we all have the jurisdiction to give him one gift. Sonia had a mask of calm, but her face betrayed her true emotions. "Yes, but we aren't allowed to interfere with an infant's life besides the one gift we give him. Kazuichi knew Sonia was right about that, magic users weren't supposed to interfere with destiny, even if it seemed like absolute bullcrap. However, he figured that could be incentive to make these gifts count, so they could at least give Hajime a chance. "I will start, with my dark powers, the forces of evil will flee from Hajime!" That made Kazuichi crack a smile. Even if Gundam's over the top theatrics bothered the pink haired mage at times, even the smallest joke was needed to lighten the mood in this dark time. As Kazuichi and Sonia stepped back and Gundams hamsters peeked out of his scarf, the man spread out his arms and began talking. "The fiend known as Hajime will be a practical thinker and reliable. He will be trustworthy and someone others can trust to follow." Kazuichi then saw black clouds surround Hajime, who gave a slight smile, though he seemed suprisingly serious for being a month-old baby. Kazuichi felt the breath he was holding fade away. With the combination of his newfound reliability and whatever Sonia was going to give him, Hajime would probably be fine. Sonia then stepped forward, giving a kind smile to the brown eyed child. "Little boy, you will be humble and quick witted. Not only will you be a firm reliable pillar, but will have humility and a quick wit." Kazuichi by this point was feeling much better. All he had to do was give his own gift of being trusting and have his trust returned, and Hajime would be set. After the rose petals had finished falling on Hajime, Kazuichi stepped forward and started. "Kid you..." Before a strong wind blew him into the wall of the room. Kazuichi rubbed his head and stood up to see Junko Enoshima stride in, and he immidietely ran in front of the crib where the baby was. "Now this is a charming little cristening, but isn't it a little rude to avoid inviting your queen?" Junko asked, making Kazuichi sick. "Well I guess it is a good thing I had a gift prepared for him. Kazuichi stayed in front of the crib, but Junko began talking. "Hajime. All they said will be true, you will be reliable, trustworthy and quickwitted. You will still be humble and steadfast. However, they will still hate you and fear you. You will appear to all who meet you as a monster." Kazuichi frantically picked up the baby and tried to keep him away from Junko as his hair darkened and grew, his eyes turned red, and his skin became like ash. "You will have the ability to do anything, but you will hate yourself for it. No confidence in yourself and scorned by others, you will grow up in a life full of sorrow and despair. You will be hunted like a common animal, with the ability to defend yourself, but will not since you will only see yourself as a monster. You will not be able to trust those who hate you, and will despise yourself. After 16 years of this despair, as the sun rises on your 16'th birthday, a spire of rock will pierce your heart and after moments of incredible agony that feel like years, you will die consumed in your own despair. All at once Kazuichi found himself able to use his magic again and could see the others did two since they began facing the queen with there own magic. Kazuichi felt nothing but destraught. He still had his gift left, but he was a beginner sourcerer, not like Sonia or Gundam. He couldn't counter Junko's magic, but he could help. "Kid, though you will be stabbed with a spire to the heart, you won't die and will just fall asleep. There will be others that can see through Junko's curse and see the light inside of you, and with true words spoken, you will be freed." Kazuichi then saw his electricity touch the baby and knew somehow that this wasn't enough, so he turned to his fellow mages who seemed to think the same. "Black magic is too prevelant hear, we must flee to the woods with the prince of darkness before her demons cobsume us!" Gundam decided. Kazuichi nodded and the three of them fled to the forest with the boy destined to die.
