Chapter 1

"Jack, do you know where Lilly is?" sked a pale, short, woman to a dark, middle-aged man. He looked at her from his chair and answered "No Sarah, I think she's exploring the house again."

Sarah then huffed. Her husband was no use to her at all. As usual. She thought about where her daughter could be. Probably exploring, as usual. And that'll mean more muddy clothes for her to wash, something that always made Sarah shudder.

It seemed to be more dirtier since they moved here two months before. Lilly clothes, I mean. Sarah never agreed to go there but Jack got the better of her saying it'll be a new adventure. Sarah then left the room in order to look for Lilly.

She looked around the house and saw no one. There was not a soul in sight, causing her to furrow her brow in confusion. Biting her lip nervously, she scanned the empty rooms, searching for any sign of life. The silence weighed heavily on her, making her heart race with unease. Where could everyone be? A deep sigh escaped her lips as she considered the possibilities. Suddenly, a pang of fear shot through her, sending shivers down her spine. She couldn’t shake the feeling that something was wrong. With determination in her eyes, she decided to venture outside into the garden. Perhaps Lilly was there, hidden among the vibrant flowers and lush greenery

She went to the back door, opened it and then called,

"Lilly."

"Lilly?"

"Lilly!"

No reply.

"Why did you make us move here Jack," she mumbled for the tenth time that day "Marksbrought was perfectly fine. It didn't have a hundred mile garden."

She remembered the town she used to live in, it may have been a large, bubbly town where danger lies in many corners. But it was home. Not unlike this mess.

Of course, it wasn't 100 miles. But it felt like it.

After a minute, she had no choice but to put her gleaming white heels, newly bought last week into the garden. Step by step. She walked through the garden, not daring to look at the mud on her heels, looking for Lilly.

She then, after a few minutes, saw an unfamiliar shed, it looked old, broken and ugly in Sarah's mind but in Lilly's mind, it was a place worth exploring.

She must be in here, she thought, she must be.

Sarah nudged closer to the shed and saw that the door was a little open. Someone had been in there recently. Could it be Lilly?

She then opened it, Creaking as it did. She looked around her. Nothing. Then she looked down and she then screamed.

"AAAAAAHHHHHH!"

Jack heard his wife's screams from the other side of the house, judging by the pitch, it wasn't a 'Lily got dirty' one or a over dramatic one. It was real. He jumped into action, rushed out to the garden, not caring a jot that he wasn't wearing any shoes and then saw his wife screaming at a shed.

"Sarah," he asked "What is it?"

His wife didn't turn around.

"Sarah?"

He then went closer to the shed. He looked down and he too, screamed.

The cops were called in, around twenty of them to their Tudor style, six bedroomed house. They studied at what they were screaming at. It was something no parent should ever hope to see.

It was a body of a young girl, dark hair, tanned skin. Tall for her age. There was what looked like a giant beartrap covered in her blood. The girl was trapped in there, the claws ripping into her fragile body. It was unsure if it was quick or painful, no doubt both.

The girl was Lilly. But there was one other thing that made her parents scream. Right where her eyes were, there were dark holes instead.

The cops looked at her gravely. One said to the parents "Last time we were here, a boy was found hanged and his father was found in this shed but filled with arrows."

"So," stammered Sarah, finding the right words "She was murdered deliberately?"

"We don't know." another cop said "But we are going to move you guys away, It's not safe."
