CHAPTER 1 HEAD OVER HEELS SUNSET
I'm Julie's daughter, Juilliann, I was name after my mother When my mother died my father packed all of his stuff and mine and moved to a small town in Amarillo Texas. I was forced to move without any warning. no friends, no family I was an only child, new life, new town where nobody knew me. I had to start all over with no support system at home or at school. My dad "Oliver" wasted most of his life drinking himself to death after my mother passed things never really were the same between us again. He'd drink like a fish outta the pond and I'd spend every day before and after school for the past three years having to clean up his vomit, the dirty dishes and his clothes. I never really seen him happy after my mother died. Our house wasn't a place I could call home anymore.
I found a stack of letters hidden away in my mother's room inside a metal case in an Attic up on a top shelf where none would ever dare to look. It had been five years since her passing we went to the funeral to say our goodbyes.
Me and my father suffered a tragic loss that day. I still remember like it was yesterday. I was a little girl. Now! I'm left with her memories haunting me. I would dream and wonder what it would be like to see her, touch her, talk to her just once more. It surely would make my dad happy again. I hated seeing him like this.
Julie Amber Moore's written letter To: Juliann Amberson Moore II her daughter
I remember that summer in Brownsville River del Port TX. The fresh smell of green cut grass in the morning. How the sun Shinedown bright enough to fry an egg sunny side up on the sidewalk. The huge beautiful yellow daisies and blue violets that grew in the fields each year of summer. Julie & Branson set along side on a hill and had a picnic. Branson spread out a red & white checkered old fashioned blanket the kind like in the movies just for the two of them.
Branson was a hopeless romantic and Julie loved that about Branson. She liked that he tried for her. Branson and julie were from two different worlds but they had a lot in common. They were both young and innocent sharing experiences, having fun and learning about life. Branson didn't come from a wealthy family neither did julie. He did little things to show how much he really loved Julie. All they knew is that they found each other and didnt want it to end.
Julie bought her favorite basket filled with food. Pecan pie, fried chicken, potato salad and some of the best homemade country lemonade Branson ever tasted it was her great grandma's recipe.
They'd cling their glasses together to make a toast. ( I propose a toast to us they laughed) ting! Julie looked up at the sky she
begun to feel light drops on her head. They hurried up and packed up everything before it started to rain heavily. They hiked the long trail down to the cabin in the woods. Branson decided to surprise Julie and took her on a prentend getaway. Since Julie couldn't go on her dream trip to cancoon island she settled for second best. It wasn't "cancoon" but it would just have to do for now.
Hey! A girl can dream right? I'm just living out loud. It was their first anniversary they spent together. They were still in the honey moon phase. They were all over each other being lovey dovey. When they arrived Branson told
Julie to close her eyes and not to peak. He took Julie by the hand and she followed behind. Julie laughed and said! ( Where are
you taking me? you crazy man!) Branson just smile and says! ( Hold on babe we're almost there!) finally... he steps in front of a wooden house. Just then the sky turns grey and out of the blue it starts pouring and thundering like cats and dogs. Branson reaches into his Front pocket for his keys. He stick's one key into the door and it opens easily. Errrr.... Branson carried Julie over the threshold.
Julie was four months pregnant with Branson's child. Once he entered into the cabin Branson put her down. Branson yells! (You can open your eyes now! while smiling). Julie replied! (Oh my goodness baby this is beautiful!) and gave Branson a big hug while he spin her around. They were newly weds who were very much in love. They'd been married for at least a year. It was something about cabines, lake houses and offshores that julie loved so much It brought them closer together.
The old cabin belonged to Branson's uncle Greg. When uncle Greg died he left the cabin to Branson. He was the eldest of five younger brothers. Bronswick, brad, berminham Jr. Benson III, Barnell. Uncle Greg's father kept the tradition going. When uncle greg was a young boy. Every year his father would take him down to the cabin. They'd go fishing, set around the fire and tell stories, go camping and hiking together. Uncle greg's father wanted to teach greg to become a man to survive and prepare him for the real world. It was his way of bonding with him. Uncle Greg didn't understand what his father was doing it for. All uncle Greg knew was he was just happy to spend time with his father. When uncle greg grew into a man he then understood what he did it for. At the cabin the two unpacked.

I lost my mom in 1984, we were very close, but still I yearn to find out, even now, her real specific day to day feelings and aspirations. Your story made me wish she kept a diary as well
