Chapter 1
Maya's Pov
A strong cold breeze caressed my soft, porcelain skin, standing on the balcony of my room. The view of the vast woods and a garden at the side could be glimpsed as its leaves danced through the air, bumping each branch on its side. Its stunning view slowly comforted my gloomy face and cheered me up to all the roller coaster challenges I had been up to, especially hearing the sad news that indeed upset my Alpha father….
"Luna Maya, it's sad news." Zach, the pack doctor, stood behind me.
"I know. I can feel the changes within my body," I replied. Weeks after I went into the pub, my body slowly changed, including my mood and diet. "How I wish this were only a dream…."
"It's confirmed that you are pregnant, Luna Maya," said Doctor Zach. "We have done a lot of tests, and it remains the same. It's positive."
Zach sounded too sad. He added, "And I apologize as your father, Alpha Xander, knew it. I can't keep it hidden from him."
Moving my body to face him, I saw his gaze lowered. My shoulder almost collapsed, understanding what he meant.
Instead of questioning him and panicking, I showed a fake smile, concealing how worried I was. "Nah, it's fine, Zach. I know you're scared of my father. Anyway, that's for confirming it to me."
"If there's anything you want, just call me right away. Excuse me for now." Zach marched out of my room.
And I was left alone, sobbing as it never crossed my mind that a one-night stand with a stranger I met in a club would lead us to have pups. If it weren't for the Alpha who rejected me, I wouldn't have visited the club and been drunk, unaware that my drunk self would have agreed with a stranger to play in bed.
Amidst my silence, the door swung open out of the blue, slamming it into the wall, causing me to be alarmed. I opened my eyes wide open and scanned to whoever opened it. To my surprise, my Alpha father stood with a furious stare and darted at me.
"Father…" I stepped back in fear, and my body shivered. I felt that anytime soon, I would have collapsed. "I can explain…."
"That's what I have told you! You're now pregnant because you're hard-headed!" Father yelled at me. "Who's that damn father of your child?!"
"I—I don't know," I stuttered, and my voice cracked.
"What?! You're too stupid! That's why Alpha Rey rejected you!" Father crossed his arms under his broad chest. "And you think I'll accept you giving birth to that unknown pup? Hell no!"
Shaking my head, I stepped closer to him and held his veiny hands. However, Father pushed me away and made me fall to the ground. My ass bounced on the hard floor, and I felt excruciating pain.
"Don't you ever touch me! I didn't want to have a daughter like you." Father lowered his gaze on me on the floor. He didn't even feel sorry for pushing me. "Leave the pack now! If you choose to terminate the child within you, then I can let you stay!"
"No! I can't do that!" I replied.
Tears had already escaped from my eyes out of my control. Having the pups in me might not be a blessing for him, but I do cherish them.
"I'll keep the pups in me. I will not terminate them!" I yelled.
"If so, you leave! Don't you ever return; I'll forget I have a daughter like you! You'll forever be banned from entering Eleanor Pack!" Father faced his back, signaling the two guards to come forward. "You have ruined my reputation!"
Without further ado, two guards held my hand and forced me to stand. Once done, they tightened their grip and waited for his command.
"Threw her out of the pack's vicinity. Once you catch her trying to enter inside, don't you ever hesitate to kill her…" Father left after leaving those harsh words I kept hearing from my mind.
It was another pain. I never thought my father could do such a thing just because I was pregnant by an unknown guy, and I chose my child rather than his reputation not being tarnished.
Later, the two guards, who once respected me as their Luna, never showed sympathy nor tried listening to me. At least giving me time to pack my things, yet they didn't.
"Please let me talk with my father!" I tried pushing them away and stopped walking, but their strengths, compared to mine, were too robust.
"I won't do anything! I'm powerless, Luna!"
"Maybe Father will listen if I'll explain!"
"Please!"
However, the two guards didn't hear a word from me. They kept from walking, and as we reached the main gate, they pushed me out of the main entrance. Yet, in response, I ran back to the gate to enter, but the guards had closed the door.
"We do apologize, but it's Alpha Xander's order, Luna Maya," said the guard shielding the gate. "Please leave before your father changes his mind and kills you instead."
I didn't mind what the guard had told me.
"Father! Let me explain!" I shouted, my voice echoed, and as time passed, they still didn't let me come inside.
I had no choice but to back off, staring at the glamorous gold gate closed. As I started moving, I looked back, scanning the stunning view of Eleanor's mansion, which was heavily guarded, and I couldn't enter its vicinity, even if it were secretly.
Sighing, I faced the woods and ran through it as fast as possible. My vision went blurry, but I did my best to see the path I was following, unaware of where my feet would bring me. If it was to the rogues or the neighboring pack, I could start a new life with the pups inside me.
"I'm so sorry, my dear pups, but I had to leave the pack to raise you…." I whispered, placing my hand on top of my womb.
After minutes of running, my feet went numb, and I almost collapsed, seeing a gate of a neighboring pack. Something was written on it, 'Landon Pack,' before I finally collapsed, seeing total darkness.
