The start of the case
The year was 1964 It was a quiet day and me and Robbins were playing a game of chess and
Than the phone ranged and Robbins picked up the phone and wrote down an address and said Looks Like we have a murder at Morgan’s barber shop and I said "I though Miller and Brown had that case" and then he said "They found something and they think it should be one of our case" I asked him "why is that" and he said "We have to down there and see it" I grabbed my hat and coat and we walked to our car and we drove to Morgan’s barber shop when we got there it was a busy crowd of people when we started get to the front. we had to push through the crowd of people to get to the police tape an officer said Move along the barbershop is closed showed. We showed our badges to the officer said I thought the detectives were already here and Robbins said yes but they found something that brought us here that connected to another case. As we walked into the barbershop, I saw the forensics team and the coroner was all over the body. It was a man sitting in the barber’s chair. He looked like he was sitting there for a good while detective miller and brown walked over to me, and Robbins and Brown said, "We found this in his pocket" and handed me a letter and on it was read to detective Ryder. Robbins said, "Oh Boy who did you piss off this time" and I asked with a smile "Want me to mail you a list?" He just rubbed his eyes then asked what does and I read it aloud "Hello again detective Ryder it’s been a long time…don’t you remember me? I have come back. I hope you can find me again. It’s getting lonely here Signed M.S."I raised my head and looked at Robbins and he Looked at me and we both said "Michael Simmons." We ask miller and Brown what they knew about the Murder they said "it appears that the murder happened yesterday from the appointment book his last appointment was around eight pm. It was an hour after he closed but he did this only a rare amount of time" and I asked, "who had their last appointment?" Miller said, "name was James Rider at 656 on willow springs Rd" and I said, "That’s a fake address". They asked why? I said "I was there last week. It is used as a fishing spot and it’s out in the country". Then I said, "Let’s head back to the office and let the coroner take the body so we can be sure on what time he died". The body was rolled out and we stayed there, and we looked around trying to see if Miller and Brown had missed something, but we found nothing. As we left the barbershop, I saw a newspaper boy I ran over and bought a newspaper and told Robbins to drive back to the station on the way back he asked, "why did you pick up a newspaper?" I said "Well because of the headline. It read A ship carrying the Golden Eye of Senwosret II was Lost to the sea and there was Only one survivor". He asked, "what’s so special about that?" and I said, "it’s a Long story but the chief might remember it". He laughed as we were walking into the station. as We entered Our office The phone was ringing so I walked over and picked it up. It was the coroner he said," to come to the Morgue as soon as possible". I said, "Ok We will be right down". I told Robbins that Dr. Johnson wanted to see Right now. We Walked out of our office, and we walked down to the basement of the building. As we walked in, we saw Edwards and Johnson. Edwards said, "ah you’re here". I asked, "what did you two find?" Johnson said, "The Barber’s Razor was not the Murder weapon it was done post-mortem." I asked "what was the cause of death then?" He said, "well let’s show you." He turned and walked to the body, and he moved the head. We walked over and pointed out a small Hole in the head Just under the left ear. He said "It’s a 22-caliber bullet".
