Prologue: Burn

Once upon a time.... cause that always ends well there were two great nations one of sun and one of moon. They lived in harmony until the other nations created a war one of which all must choose a side. Water, Living Earth, Void, and Darkness convinced Moon to join them creating the Haunted Alliance. Fire, Geo, Nova, and Light joined with Sun creating the Guild of Rising Day.

And so they battled relentlessly, the only thing keeping each side's hope was the last prophesy given by the dragons before they disappeared forever, chased away by the pain of war.

The prophesy spoke of two great warriors one of Moon and one of Sun. Warriors gifted with the power of the Solar Owl and the Lunar Raven. Only they could end the war and bring about a new era.

The alliances became more desperate attacking the places of safety that harbored the magically inclined of their enemies, not wanting them to have the warriors on their side. They managed to save as many as they could but none ever became the Warriors of prophesy.

Fire rained down from the burning trees and the sky was clouded with ash. Mother tried rushing us away but there was nowhere to go. The village was being demolished by the spirit magic users from the Kingdom of Fire known as Fire Crows. It was a fitting title, there was always murder and death wherever they went.

A smoldering branch of one of the pines fell breaking me away from mother and Rune, my sister. I turned hearing hoof-steps behind me. A man sat high on the back of a white deer-horse, a lithe creature made for running and jumping.

Its pristine fur was marred by soot and the symbol burned into its flank marking it belonged to the Guild of Rising Day. It's rider lifted his hand and I could feel the heat beginning to build. I was going to burn with the rest of the forest.

An arrow shot out of nowhere piercing through the Fire Crow's hand and hitting a tree somewhere further off. I was lifted off the ground and onto the front of a panther-wolf larger than the Fire Crow's deer-horse.

"Hold tight boy, the Raven has blessed you. You're safe with me," The beast bounded off into the shadows of the forest leaving the rest to burn with the flames. As we rode away an explosion of a warm comforting heat pulsed out from the village followed by a flash of brilliant golden light.

I hated how comforting it made me feel, for a moment later I could hear my sister's screams reverberating through the trees that cloaked us.

The was the last time I heard or saw of my village and sister. But I had a greater calling.

I was a Lunar Raven.

Knights of Raven’s great brigade,

We fight until our dying day,

To end the war we mustn't lose sight,

Exult the mother, eternal Night.
