Summary

I take a deep breath. Not even air can fill the emptiness in the room. In the dark, my eyes seem glued open. Like two clothing line pins clamping onto my eyelids, holding them up straight. Somniphobia. That's the only way I can describe it.

Chapter 1

Hearing the clock tick in the darkness, is the only noise heard. So quiet, that even a gust of wind can be heard from outside. Though the time is just about midnight, my eyes seem to be open. I can feel the tiredness in me... but I can't seen to heal it. It's like this every night. The clock ticking, the gusts of wind, me in my bed, but yet... no sleep.

- 6:00 AM -

I look over to my left to see my alarm clock, beeping without a hault.

I sigh, turning it off. I'm not upset that I have to wake up early, but rather that I didn't even get to snooze. Work doesn't really help that, with lacking rest. Fast food restaurants are always busy, with junkies that decide to grab a greasy meal every 30 mintues. I personally don't eat much greasy foods. Only on special occasions.

You could say I'm pretty skinny. I have long black hair that reaches the half of my back, blue eyes, and a small button nose. Back in elementary and middle school, I used to get bullied about my eye bags. Heck, I'm still 19 and getting bullied. The world is picky. Another dumb reason I used to get made fun of was my name. Azzurra. What were my parents thinking when they named me?

Guess I'm not too surprised though, my parents never really loved me. They abandoned me at my grandmas when I was only 6, and they left to Florida to get away. Perhaps they didn't realize how much work it was to have a child, and well, take care of one. From what I can remember, they always drank alcohol, smoked cigarettes, and went out to "their friends house". I would later find out that they were actually just going to the club... or a bar.

Take notes parents, if you aren't willing to commit and take risks of having a child, don't have one at all. You wouldn't want your children to end up like me. A quiet, selfless girl, with major introvert issues.
