This is the tale of a girl
Who was unsure if she wanted to be in the world
Her skin was pale and her frame was lean
Everyone around her seemed to be so mean
Her parents were angry and fought a lot
Often they took all that she got
From working hard long hours
Where the customers were sour
She often wondered to herself what would happen if she were gone
She thought that no one would care and in another world maybe she was wrong
Every night she walked along the cliff
Until one day she finally leaped and fell into a riff
It wasn't what she expected, she thought that she would die
But instead about halfway through the fall she was staring at an orange sky
The place she was in was strange, the stuff of fairytales
And in the tall pink grass she looked even more pale
On her left were trees with leaves of rainbow colours
On her right was a sign for a town called lovers
It was an ironic name she thought since she had never dated before
Perhaps if this world was real she could hope for something more
So up she got, disoriented from the fall
She dusted herself off and tried to make herself small
She decided to walk towards the village to see what the people were like
But little did she know she was in for a fright
The creatures here were tall with skins of different colours and looked nothing like normal
She even found they were all dressed for a formal
The women wore glittering gowns and had elaborate hair
While the men dressed in various suits seemed to all be fair
Never will they accept someone like me she thought
So she turned on her heel and sought
The rainbow trees could be her home
Afterall she had never known
What love and care truly meant
She had never experienced it, she was spent
Even if she were to die
She had no one to whom she would say goodbye
No one to call and no one to see
Alone for all eternity
It is for the best she told herself
This place is beautiful I should see for myself
But in the end it was all a dream, some messed up version of reality
When she woke she was once again surrounded by plain white walls
And when her tears began to fall
Get up girl her dad would shout
So she moved quick to be up and about
She knew she had to work again
And on her her parents depend
She wished she could go back to the place
With rainbow trees and strange faces
She threw on her uniform depresses as can be
She didn't know that there could be
A real world like the one she had seen
She would be back there even if she didn't know
And when she was her smile would glow
